One big happy family at Jack's blessing. Yep. That's us. They had a neat museum there. Tess ignoring the signs and scaling the displays.
Tate, of course, was attracted the the electronics with buttons. And that kids, is what happens when you don't clean up your toys. Not sure what this is all about... That is the Tess we know and love. "I didn't come all the way out here to look at all this STUPID stuff! I want to go play at the park!"
Can we please go to the park now? More sand! Great! Uncle Caleb showing them how it's done.
Please don't touch the dinosaurs? What does that mean? The monsters with cousins Drew and Anne. Huh. I wonder what he's in the process of saying that is making her stomp off like that.
Can we PLEASE go to the park now?! "You are crunchy and good with ketchup." FINALLY! At the park.
Hiking with Daddy. What a view!
Pit stop while hiking. Tess looks a bit worried about this whole thing... Oh goodie. Sand. I love sand.
Monsters on a dragon. This cool slide wasn't there when Dad and I attended elementary school there. Funny kids.
Clone trooper Tess. Tess cooking with Grandma. Which is more fun that cooking with Mom. She seriously said that. Daddy and Tess looking at bugs at the Butterfly Pavilion in Colorado. None of the monsters wanted to touch the starfish.
She was really excited about the fish. Tess was sort of concerned about the butterflies landing on her. Monsters. Sitting really quietly hoping for a butterfly to land on us. So we can jump up and run away screaming.
Butterfly rubbings. Climbing web. Monsters. Butterfly monsters.
Noah is glad that the next time we drive to Utah he won't have to climb in the back so I can feed the baby. So. Much. Giggling. Blow-drying...
Jared took Noah and Tess to the Rangers game with the scouts. This picture gives me a headache. Goofballs. And I love the boots with the shorts look... Tess got her face painted at the Pioneer Day party at the church.
Awww...sharing. Crazy, patriotic monsters...and Jack. Awww... Makin' cake.
Monsters, I mean Beavers, flashing more gang signs before going to Twilight Camp. The monsters in the Medivac Helicopter at Tball closing ceremonies. Noah's Tball team, and other two monsters, on the Medivac helicopter. I'm not sure why we're flashing gang signs in our pictures nowadays...
Funny girl...
Grandpa and the older monsters glued to the lappy... Watching Noah play his new Didj game. Watching the game is the next best thing to actually getting a turn. No blinking necessary.
I admit that I may have gotten a little drawn in myself. The kids LOVED this large box. Tate showing Tess how it's done. Scary face Tess.
Faster than a speeding...something loud and pink. The kids love to pile shoes on the volcano and wait for it to explode. Tess at her award ceremony at ballet class. She's very proud of her trophy.
Tess and Miss Melissa. Tess is SO excited that baby Jack is here. Tess after her 2nd ballet recital. Well done girlie! She was very excited about the pink tulips that Daddy brought her. Tate was excited to be going home.
Jared let the kids run through the sprinklers next door, cause he's more fun than me. Tess in her Easter finery, which we forgot to take a picture of the first time she wore it to church...so we got all dolled up again today. Monsters three. Trying to earn our official "Texan" cards.
Cute kids. The kids were actually pretty excited by all the flowers everywhere. Not yet tired of smiling. Sweet little girl.
"Look, a squirrel!" Such a doll. "Are we done yet?" Pink boots for bonus Texan points.
She was so giggly during this part. Our happy little sweetheart. Tess and her new shirt... Egg hunting...
Watching conference. We printed out Conference coloring pages and Conference bingo pages for them... This was about as long as the whole "sit and listen and be quiet" thing lasted. Then it changed to "go and get out and you can't be out here if you can't be quiet." The kids colored the newspaper after we were done coloring the eggs.
Tate was very excited by the blue eggs. Tess making ears for bunny cupcakes. Tess and her bunny. Two not so black sheep at Loner School.
Making chocolate dipped pretzels that Mom can't eat. Tess is opening Pretty Pretty Princess. Two blind googly-eyed mice. Tess had a good time making spiders too.
Our kids decided that they wanted a turn being the laundry fairy. They needed a ladder to reach into the bottom of the washer. This is why people buy front loaders I think. Today in Loner School we made spiders to frighten Miss Muffet away. Cute dang girlie.
Tess and Daddy building a snowman. We bought Jared some snow pants when we lived in Colorado, the ski trip got canceled and he never wore them. Until today. Snowball fight!
Tess and the snowman... She decided that he needed a scarf. All the kids pelting Dad with snowballs. Tess just heaved that gigantic snow blob at Jared.
The very large snow monster. Look how wet her pants are! You can see the pink liner stuff! Tess and her new bed. What a funny girl!
Breakfast at the pajama party. We put a candle in her french toast and the girls sang to her over breakfast. Sleeping bag races. Coloring pajama shirts. These turned out so cool!
I monogrammed each of the shirts with each girls first initial (I used heat n' bond and some cute material, it was a breeze) and then they colored them with fabric markers. Jared played Duck, Duck, Goose with them while I got us ready for the next project. He later gave me a hard time for planning "Super Saturday for little girls." It's a good thing he was there. He's way more fun than me. By the time this game was over the girls had turned it into a team effort to flatten Jared into the carpet. Apparently Allie (running in pink) is quite a wrestler. Making door hangers with glittery, princess stickers. I apologize to all the Moms who are now picking stupid glittery, foam, princess stickers out of the carpet...really. Very sorry.
And now, for our final project, we're stringing candy beads to make bracelets with a kit I found in the dollar section at Target. Score! Tess' 5th birthday party. From left: Emily, Allie, Tess, Madison, Berlynn, Cassia and Molly. Tess modeling her new jammie shirt. Egg races at Loner School, since egg starts with E.
Tate immediately took off running and, of course, lost his egg. Tess was the winner. Making apple sun-catchers. Tate lost interest in this REALLY quickly. So proud of herself! Making twinkly (glowing) star necklaces to go with our nursery rhyme.
Ta da! The very small, very ugly cake Tess had to make do with this year. We let Tess open her present from Mommy and Daddy before Jared and Noah left early in the morning.
:D A pink mp3 player! YAY! SO excited!
"A new blankie!" She actually put her "blankie" on the floor and slept with her new blanket last night! MONEY!
Tess and her "baby princess Barbies!"
Excited even though Tate told her what they had gotten her before we were even out of the parking lot. :) They sang Happy Birthday to Tess at Friday's (where kids eat free EVERYDAY!) and brought her an ice cream sundae!
Cutest girl EVER! Dinner at the Pinewood Derby. Making a treat for preschool, since treat starts with T. The monsters on the first day of preschool.
My Baby Tess is getting so big... Handwriting. Playing Tic Tac Toe with toads. Being a turtle.
Lunchtime! Jack and Jill puppets. This picture is almost as adorable as it is horrifying. Tess is fishing for an idiot, and it looks like she caught one. Behind her you're sure to notice the Bookshelf Explosion of 2010.
The kids met Daffy Duck at Six Flags. Tate was very excited to be touching Bugs' face. Cute monsters. Apparently this was Noah's favorite ride.
Haha. Dad and the kids on a magic carpet style bus. Glad I didn't have to ride any of these... This ride had the slowest. moving. line. ever. I love these swing type things.
Poor cold Tess. We had to buy the kids hats and gloves while we were there, they were SOOOO cold. Watching movies on New Year's Eve. Tess and her water color princess. It's good she has aunts and uncles to buy her the fun stuff Mom refuses to buy. I suppose...
Tess' turn for second Christmas. YAY! Grandma must be in league with Santa if she knew to send these... Devouring the rice krispie house. Yay! More sugar!
Okay we get it...move on. Tess zipping around on her new scooter. Funny kids... I don't know, do you think they are excited to see their presents?
Tess loves her new big-girl dollhouse. Aunt Ashley made these great crowns. The kids love them, been wearing them all day. Tate is making sure his crown is still on. The kids also love the presents Caleb and Ashli picked for them.
Tess can't wait to see what her present is from the Sowerby's. Would you believe she got an awesome scooter too? All together now. Grandma's scooter gang.
Christmas dinner 2009. Tess was very excited to get some present opening practice. She loves her new pajamas, particularly the polka dotted set. Decorating cookies for Santa.
This was before they started getting more interested in eating decorations than decorating with them. Can you fit any more gummy bears on that cookie, Tess? I hear the best way to put sprinkles on cookies is to smash the lid into the frosting. Yum yum.
Reading The Night Before Christmas and then the nativity story from the Children's Illustrated New Testament. Tate was pretty interested in blocking everyone else's view of the book. The kids all ready for bed in their new jammies. My favorite part about Christmas is how eager they are to go to bed.
Merry Christmas! Funny kids. Tess and Daddy working on the rice krispie house. Funny girlie.
Yeah. This is exactly what I meant when I said "look here and smile." Way to go guys. Much, MUCH better. Tess in her "Cinderella dress." She calls it that because that's the brand on the tag. Today was Tess's ballet class where she could invite family and friends to attend and watch.
Tess was especially thrilled with the tiara that Miss Melissa made for her. She's so much better at it this year than when I got to watch last year. Tess is pretending to be a butterfly hiding from something- I don't remember what. What a beautiful girl.
She spent most of the class watching us instead of watching her teacher. She such a tiny little girl still, she's the only one in her class that has trouble seeing over the bar. It's pretty cute. Tate couldn't resist joining in. Tess's whole class.
Ready to start doing the walk where you kick forward with every step. I don't know these terms... I think this one was called Arabesques or something like that. Noah's school had a 1st Grade Cookie Night with lots of fun and games for the kids. Not really many cookies though. Tess gave her mouse a baseball cap, and the story says, "If you give a mouse a banana, he'll want a milk and cookie snack to go with it!
She got a little sloppy with the markers. Our pretty pretty princess. Tess was so excited about getting her own cheese pizza that she couldn't even eat it. Tess and her letter to Santa at the L3 kids party. She asked for a pink scooter.
All the monsters and Santa. Tess and her switching heads doll. Cool and creepy all at the same time. Creepy head changing doll and Tess. So much "help."
Tess and her new ornament. He hehe. I was so excited we could stop here on the way home. Tess liked this big rock chair. Awwww...aren't they cute when they're sleeping?
Tess made me take her picture on this "beautiful butterfly chair" outside of Taco Time in Kaysville. Then of course all the kids had to get in on the photo taking... Tess and Tate shared the wagon. This is much more like the kind of pictures we usually get.
Noah was sure he wanted to pull them around...but it was pretty crowded. Cold kids with really bad red eye...
Monsters trying not to fall into the pool. Fingers in mouths and not looking at the camera...guess that one's not Christmas Card material. Here we all are freezing our butts off. Aunt Ashley (not Ashli, who was also there) helped Tess with the guitar, she's more fun than me. :)
Lots of people and lots of noise. Throwing snowballs at Daddy. Great fun! Holy crap! They're all looking at the camera! AND smiling! It's a miracle! Good thing they didn't really throw those at me...it would have gotten ugly.
Little monsters aren't allowed in our bed but they are welcome to the floor. Jared found two of the three next to his side of the bed one morning. Awwww... Sliding down into a pile of leaves. Woo Hoo! I don't know where she gets this. ;)
Here's hoping for a better picture when they get home... Here's us failing to get a better picture after they got home... Good grief... Alright guys, I said a better picture...
Waiting patiently for her turn with the only one of our punkins that didn't rot before Halloween. Tess usually hogs the purple pegs...we made it easier for her by having the kids sort them out first. Calamity Jane. Jared and his unbirthday cake.
Trying to keep her pumpkin from rolling all the way down the hill and into the ditch full of swamp water. Priceless. I said smile...not try to look goofy.
Come on! A nice picture... All I want is a nice picture. How cute is this girl? Burning marshmallows at our mock campout.
Look what we bought from Woot! recently... Tess' new night light in the dark... Despite her face here she really is very excited about it... Funny girlie, she LOVED it!
Tess was awesome! Tess on the zip line. Tess insisted on doing this retarded neck scrunching thing when I tried to take her picture. I warned her that the result would be unflattering, she didn't listen. Tess zonked out in the car...
Tate insisted on wearing that backpack to Meet the Teacher Night. He's pretty sure he's starting first grade on Monday... Wouldn't it be nice if that boy would just smile like a normal person for a picture? Tess hitting the ball in the little batting cage.
Funny girlie. Look! Another tired and cranky child! They're everywhere! They're everywhere! (Note the new PINK Ranger's shirt) Tess turned out to be a bit of a daredevil. Tess loved these little waterslides, but that was before we realized she was tall enough to ride the bigger ones on the tower.
Tess liked the twisty slides best. Tess about ready to go on some of the bigger slides. The first of many many times down the bigger slides. Sweet Tess just after bathtime.
3 kids waiting for it to be time to go get dinner. She's not a mess at all. The kids had a great time at Great Wolf. Waiting for the clock tower show to start.
The kids were pretty fixed on the show. The Clock Tower show was entertaining for the kids. Our cute kids. Noah picked out his clothes all by himself. He's a stylish kid. Cute girl.
Tate was refusing to say that he was sorry after calling me a Stupidhead. The kids were using these goals as some kind of tent. Tess loved to shake the tree, as it would cause hundreds of pink flowers to fall down all around her. The kids are all excited to have their picture taken with the new camera.
Happy kids in front of a bright window. Tess was excited to be at the party, but couldn't wait for Elmo to show up. The Employee association at work had a pajama party for the kids and Elmo was there. I figured they would either panic or have a great time. Turns out they loved it. Noah's telling Elmo that Tate's his "biggest fan."
Of course, now that we are all here with Elmo, let's all look at the video behind us and everywhere else but the camera. All the kids got in a circle before dancing the hokey pokey. I'm not sure if Tate had any idea what was going on here. The kids had a lot of fun dancing with Elmo.
Tess and her swim class...she's the one with the pink shirt on (I love swimsuits with rash guards...saves me tons on sunscreen). Tess being a fishie. Here's my cute family at the parade.
Cheesey girl was SO excited when they started throwing candy! Patriotic monsters. Tess and Tate being grill models... This is like looking at me, but not.
I took the monsters to the local splash park last night, while waiting for it to be time to go pick up Jared after his 12 hour day. This thing turned off right before I took this picture...doh! Crookston, Carter and Buckley kids...from left: Tess, Tate, Andi, Jordan, Peyton, Soni, and Noah. Dylan is the only one missing. Here's Tess all dressed up at her buddy Aidan's Star Wars birthday party.
Our little bathing cutie. Tess shooting dog food with a wrist rocket. Our good friend Dave Evans was able to help Jared juggle Tess and Tate at Twilight Camp while I took Noah to the T-Ball thing. Here he and Tess are playing with wrist rockets. Thanks for your help Dave! Making friends while waiting in line.
Tess on the slip and slide. Waiting to go on the slip and slide again! Our egg didn't survive. :( This was right before we told Tate he wasn't going...
Our happy campers...I made those snazzy water bottle slings today for them to take to Twilight Camp. Tess was thrilled to find there was a belated gift for her too! Tess LOVES these puppets! The kids have a ball putting on puppet shows over the loveseat. Tess couldn't stand the suspense and decided to intervene...
If you have kids and have never read the Elephant and Piggie series of books, you must find them. They are the cutest and funniest kids books around. Noah spent some of his birthday money on a Longhorn from Build-A-Bear. Noah's doing the magic whatever to make the little heart in his steer all special or something like that. I'm glad we decided to wander and find the playground. I hadn't ever noticed it before.
Tess loved this toy. The kids had a blast playing at the playground at Firewheel. In the car at the crack of freaking dawn to go to Kindergarten Graduation. Calamity Jane found my hat. I'm gonna say from the disaster behind her that we must have been cleaning out something...yeah. That has to be it.
We picked up a kiddie pool for the monsters to play in on Memorial Day. Jared is a much better sport than I am. You wouldn't catch me getting into a kiddie pool in the front yard, let alone refraining from soaking the obnoxious photographer who felt the need to capture the moment for posterity. Apparently the water was REALLY cold. Dad was a lot of help when it came to getting even with Noah. Look! It's Royse City rock sensation The Three Little Pigs! Tate, the lead singer, mostly throws the mic and screams at the guitarist. It's hardcore!
Baby Tess plays the "drums" with a spatula. Tess was really upset about her near concussion until Jared pointed out that she had made her forehead pink. Then it was all good. Backstage, all dressed up and ready to go. The girls got to watch their teacher, Miss Melissa, dance right after they were done.
Backstage waiting for our turn to go on. Sneaking a lunchable in the theater before she had to be backstage. Poor girlie was starving and before the thing was through she was in tears because her feet hurt. All the ballerina's gathered up to sit through the award ceremony... Ballerina Baby and the roses Daddy brought her.
Having a pink milkshake on the way home from the recital. More than an hour AFTER we told the babysitter we would be done. Sorry Hayden. The little award ceremony in class the day before the recital. Tess and Miss Melissa. She is fabulous and we love her! Blockheads.
You spend thousands of dollars on toys for your children and what do they really want? A box. You can't see her face here, but she isn't very happy because the cat is hanging on her jammie shirt by her claws. Tess LOVES Pickles. Just ask her. (Pickles is what we named the cat. Tess HATES pickles the food, she makes me take them off of her burgers at McDonald's. But she's good with Pickles the kitty.) Sitting in a purple Jeep getting your hair fixed.
Pretty cute...even with the dorky looking bangs. At WalMart trying out a wide variety of clips/pins/headbands to handle her bangs. And here she is. $40 later... And the back...
The monsters on Easter morning. It's a good thing the Easter bunny picked up these adorable glasses because when he went to pull the sticker off of the shirt he picked up for Tess it took half of the High School Musical picture with it! So she got glasses instead... Rockstar! With a bad self done haircut! I rolled Tess' hair up hoping that the curl would hide the line across the back of her hair from where we had to pull/clip the monster knot out.
The little bit of curl it held fell out before we got to church and you can totally see the line... Cute little bunch of snots. Creepy chin-tucking smile... Dyeing Easter eggs. Noah is being a dork...what a surprise. And Jared is looking really sexy.
AAAAAHHHHH! Tess! Tess leading the race at Jordan's birthday party. Oh look! PlayDough! I love PlayDough! Alright kids, thank Grandma for the PlayDough.
Thanks to Grandma for finding this dress at her WalMart and mailing it to us after Daddy wouldn't let us buy when we saw it and loved it at our WalMart. Watch for more pictures of Tess all dolled up on Easter morning. Tess and Tate shopping at Kroger, of course by shopping I mean crushing the toilet paper and drumming on the lemonade... Tess insisted on being in the pictures. Tess' new toy shelves.
Here's part of Tess' costume for her ballet recital in May. It has to go back because it's missing the ribbon on the upper layer of tulle on the skirt, look to her right and you'll see what I mean. I'm glad I'm not the one who'll have to dance around with sequins shoved up my arm pits. This is a terrible washed out picture, but this outfit is super cute and I got it all on a half-off-clearance-prices sale at Old Navy. I've never really been one for the dress over jeans look but I kind of like this... Check out this 99 cent hat! Plastic dogs are the only kind I like.
The Go Anywhere Girls (like Polly Pocket but larger) ice cream truck. Very cute! Insert sharp intake of breath from Tess here...
A Bathing Beauty Set. Does she look at all excited about it? Work shoes! Now you can go get yourself a job! This dress has lights...no kidding!
Sam was almost as excited about this as Tess was, it was hilarious! YAY!!! A princess card! Forget the gift! I got a princess card! She did this roller coaster thing a lot...
There's the car she pitched a huge, embarrassing, screaming fit at Target about...it was horrible. So we bought it for her for her birthday! And it begins...should I be worried that my daughter, who has seen but does not own any HSM merchandise or movies, shrieked, as soon as the paper was off of the corner of the box, "It's High School Musical something!" He he he.
Tess and her candles... Huh...Noah still looks grumpy but Tess is happy to be on Kleenex box film... We took Tess and Tate to Build A Bear for their birthdays this year.
Stuffing Tess' bear. Tess stepped on the pedal to make the stuffing come out. They asked Tess to put the heart on her head and jump up and down four times to start it. I think this is where Tess was rubbing the bear's heart on her forehead so she (the bear) would know all about her (Tess).
Tess putting the heart in her bear. Geee...Tess picked a pink one. What a shocker! Tess rode this ride a lot. And here is one more reason that the kids like him more...
Tess went up to talk him down... ;) I'll betcha Caleb and Ashli had no idea that they were packing their Christmas gifts to us in such amusing packing materials... We opted out of church the Sunday before Christmas, due to the alarmingly large percentage of us who were barfing, so here are the kids all dolled up the Sunday after Christmas. They sure do clean up nice, don't they? What a pretty girlie!
Tate and Tess waited patiently by the baby gate while Noah ran to fetch my slippers. Tess was also thrilled with the stuff in her stocking...
This was her response to finding out that Santa had the nerve to give her a movie without any Princesses in it. Let the mess making begin! Look, you can still see the carpet in this shot. Sniff...sniff.
Tess paused mid-opening to do a little happy dance. Tate heading over to steal candy while the kids are otherwise distracted. The kids all helped to open this big present. Tate and Tess are pretending to be treasures... ;)
Princess jammies! Good pick! EWWWW! I want these ones. You can almost hear her buzzing from all the sugar...
Grumpy little daredevil. Tess and Tate are being adorable before church while Noah, once again, is displaying his "too cool for you" face. Getting ready to dance across the stage at the Ward Party. Here she is giggling at the other girls while they get ready to dance.
Tess is the cute ballerina in the middle. Cute little ballerina girls. Tess was all smiles as she asked Santa Claus for a new singing Barbie. Here are all the kids sitting on Santa's lap at the eClub party. Daddy stood in the long line with them while Mommy ran home to get the tickets she forgot in her rush out the door...grrrrr.
Here's Noah's "I'm too cool to smile at you" face. They're so busy gnawing on stale candy they can't even smile at the camera. Ha ha ha...demolition day. Sugar coma coming on...
Tess making a mess, I mean an snowflake ornament covered in glitter, at the Mommy and Me Princess Tea Party. Ariel rubbed some sparkly stuff all over Tess' face. Tess met Cinderella, she was thrilled. Tess and her finished ornament.
Tess dancing with Cinderella. Doing her best, umm...ballet thing. Tess chowing down at the Tea Party. Where they actually tried to serve these little girls TEA!!! Me and my girlie.
Here we are at Kindergarten Gingerbread Palooza 2008! It was great, and mercifully short. The kids were cute and had a good time helping. Noah was so happy he was dancing! Here are the kids all packed up and ready to go on an adventure.
Jared laid down with Tess right after we got home and they both fell asleep on her little bed. It's too bad that the sun was shining right on this cool red door, it would have made some neat pictures if we hadn't all been squinting. Our family picture from the Crookstons shoot. The winning shot from the Crookston photo shoot, I think...
Bunch of monkeys... Tate's pants have issues staying on. I think that this may have been the winner for the Sowerby family picture... I kinda like this one where we are all picking on Brian. Ha ha.
Finally headed home from Chuck E. Cheese (or as Uncle Brian has us calling it now--the seventh circle). Cheese! Noah vehemently denies the validity of this picture. He keeps telling Jared that he drew him in, he never would have agreed to sleep on Tess' pink bed. Here are the monsters on the A at USU...
Thanks to Caleb and Ashli for helping us get some decent pictures while we were there. We went to Blue Bird with Caleb & Ashli and Nate & Ashley and their kids while we were in Logan. Grandma helped me trim a few inches off of Tess' hair while we were there. I had been too chicken to do it myself. Tess was all smiles on the bus from the parking lot to the terminal at the airport.
Tess fell asleep in the car on the way to the ballet...poor sleepy girl. After many failed attempts to get Tess to look at the camera and smile at the same time we settled for this. Tess did a lot of dancing in the lobby at the ballet. Tess and Bree after the ballet.
The monsters all ready for church... Tess is all prepared for winter in her blurry new coat and hat. This was the only bite Tess ate of her ice-cream sandwich. I swear the kids actually enjoyed eating this Halloween castle thing.
Tess didn't have too much interest in getting her hands dirty. Tess is making a kitty cat face. We've got the cutest kids EVER. The end of a fun evening of trick or treating.
One fierce butterfly. After the last scary faced picture, I tried to get her to have a natural smile by telling her a joke. It apparently bombed. I tried to get her to look over her wings at me, but it was not easy. Tess kept bonking people with her wings at the crowded library.
Tess colored a pumpkin windsock at the library party. Tess is the proud owner of a new pumpkin. The kids had a good time at the Pumpkin Patch. Tess isn't sitting on a swing, Tess and Tate just have balloons tied to their beltloops.
This cute girl was struck by a case of "Forgotten-how-to-smile-naturally-itis." Tess and Noah were playing with my legos when they decided that they wanted to turn the cars I had made into airplanes. They built these all by themselves. Tess look at the camera! Striking a pose...
They filled regular balloons with water and apparently they were impossible to pop. People were throwing them high into the air and they come crashing down only to bounce around on the ground when they landed... Tess look here! Tess at the campout eating a hot dog. Tess, already half-washed off, after falling into a sink hole full of mud.
Isn't she cute? He he he. I made that skirt. Hello? Tess? Look at the camera... Camera to Baby Tess! Hello?
Tess and Morgan Eppich (Jared and Tess rode up there with the Eppich's) enjoying their dinner. A very dirty faced girl in a sleeping bag. She even had to bring a blanket for her baby... The kids and I got Jared a bunch of movies, that for the most part they aren't allowed to watch yet, and the new Weezer CD. The new dress-up clothes are a huge hit. Thanks Deanna!
Noah made these awesome caramel rolls from a recipe in his cookbook. Mmmmm, they were good. Look! That cute, albeit a little tangly, little girl is feeding that dirty little orphan. How sweet... Tess was pretty happy with hers too. Tess and her rock.
Baby Tess at her first exam and cleaning... Tess did so good! Much better than her mother who was hovering over her asking her if she was doing okay every four seconds... Look! They both survived! All of the kids got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest in the wall...
Curly Sue. I'd twisted Tess' hair up on each side of her head earlier that day and when we took it out before bed it was so beautifully curly! We'll have to remember that before we get pictures taken again...oh, and this is the tail end of her giving Jared a big kiss. Couple of goof balls. Here's Baby Tess' ballet class...pretty dang cute aren't they? Tess demonstrating first position...
Happy girl! Jessie trying to follow Tess as she skips across the floor. I LOVE this picture. Tess liked dancing around the the scarves.
What a sweetheart... Doesn't get much cuter than this does it? Check back on Friday for a report of Tess' first day of ballet... The girl in our ward that makes these bows and I have come to an arrangement. I'll make her a few sets of blocks for Christmas time and she'll trade me for bows...after all this (plus a Christmas secret) I still have a $50 credit with her. :) He he he.
Noah and Tess with the latest creation from Noah's cookbook. Noah and Tess are excited to go to the baseball game. Good job with the picture honey... Tess danced every time they played any kind of music. The kids made chocolate dipped strawberries and orange slices.
Tess loved the chocolate covered strawberries. How hyper kids have fun. Tess liked the hamburgers Noah made. I wonder what Jennifer said to gain the undivided attention of each of the kids.
Here are the kids (and a couple of the grown ups) at this year's firework extravaganza. From left: Peyton, Andi, Dylan, Jennifer Wallace is sitting in the chair with the pink shirt. Tess is next to her and Troy Wallace is leaning against the van, Noah is there on the end. Soni and Tate were both sleeping in the house during the pyrotechnics. Silly boy. I'm surprised there was room for two kids to go through at once. The kids used these boxes they found to pretend they were robots. "Robot. Robot. Robot 3000."
One of the hazards of these costumes were that the kids kept falling over. Didn't stop them from dressing that way all the way until I was dragging them to bed. Noah and Tess are helping to make Purple Cow Milkshakes. Noah did a great job of putting ice cream in to make the shake. They loved the treat they helped to make.
All the kids liked this game. (Well, all of them but Tess...) Little Miss Messy. Ready? Set...Go! Ashli was a good sport and put this puzzle together about eight million times with Noah.
Check out the googly eyes that Tess is making at Joey... Tess is awe struck with Tara's PTTOTD prowess. Go Baby Tess go! Good job Tess!
Woo! Hoo! The pinata has been opened! Bring on the candy that none of you are really old enough to eat... The kids really, really like Ashli. That's really nice Tess... This would have worked better if Tess had held still.
Tess likes the sprinkler park a lot. Cheese! Here's the kids getting all wet. I actually heard Jared tell Tess, "Get off the phone and get your room cleaned up!" Then I guess she told who ever she was talking to, on her non-functioning cell phone, that she was getting in trouble for not cleaning up very fast.
Tess and her ring pop. Tess reading her baby a story. "You want a story baby? Should we read this story? Yes. You like this story." Tess' baby all tucked into bed. This picture was taken to illustrate a blog entry that was never written. Tess got a hold of the scissors after I cut the boys' hair, while I was visiting teaching (I had to cut and run that evening), and gave herself a few more bangs.
Tess thinks it's time to feed the baby. Every Sunday night we all sit at the computer and talk to Grandma Crookston using Skype and the webcams. The kids are always excited to tell her about their week. Aubrey, Tess, and Tate at Noah's soccer game. Tess at Noah's first soccer game.
Such a sweetheart. Tate hesitantly tore open the wrapping paper. Tess got this birthday present from Uncle Nate and Aunt Ashley. Tess found some eggs!
Ooohh. Noah found one! The Great Egg Dash of 2008. Just a second after this picture was taken the kids ran right by that egg in the corner of the kitchen. Woo Hoo! Candy!
Look pink Peeps! That's like looking at me... Ahhhh. How sweet. What a pretty girl.
The Crookston-Carter kids all lined up at church. We didn't make them all match on purpose, it just happened that way when Sam and I went to the store. Tess had a really hard time getting stuff into her basket. Sadly most of the stuff she picked up ended up on the ground behind her. Tess and I are looking around for some loot. Noah and Tess with the Easter Bunny, I can't remember why Tess was giggling.
I'm sure you're shocked to hear that Tess made almost all of her eggs pink. Tess and her first pink egg. Look she's making a yellow one! AND ANOTHER PINK ONE!!! It was shortly after this that I had to put a moratorium on pink egg production.
Almost done. The artists and their finished eggs. Look at Tess looking up at her Daddy...so cute. Noah and Tess watching the weekly podcast for kids from They Might Be Giants. They love it. What a way to turn our kids into a bunch of techie nerds...podcasts for kids...sheesh.
Here we start our attempt at getting decent picture of the monsters in their St. Patrick's Day shirts. Love the tongue Tess. In this shot Noah is explaining to me what I am doing wrong. He's been full of all kinds of "helpful" advice lately. Oh brother. Here's where we gave up on getting a decent picture. Since you can't see them Tess' shirt says "Dad's Lady Luck;" Noah's shirt says "St. Pat's Junior Motorcycle Club Live Young, Ride Fast..." and Tate's shirt says "Little Hooligans Club" and has the number 17 on it. Bunch of twerps. Here's Tess enjoying our green dinner on St. Patrick's Day.
And here's Tess making goofy faces. The joy school kids put together some patchwork quilts. Here's our pretty girl all ready for church. 1 kid ready for church. 2 more to go...
Tate crawled over and said, "Cheese!" Which made every one in this picture laugh. Grandpa loves the "paparazzi." Tess modeling in front of Grandma and Grandpa's rental truck. What a funny girlie!
Tess enjoying Noah's old tricycle. We bought her a little basket to put on it so she could take Baby (her pink bear) for a ride. Cute girlie. This was no doubt after I told her to put her other shoes on if she was going to be bike riding. What a cutie! Tess had a little trouble with watching where she was going while steering.
Go girlie! Go! Sleepy looking kids. Tess is really excited that we can all sit together now. Here the kids are playing "drums."
Cute little monkeys. The kids are still easily amused by the bread maker. "Look! Is it ready yet?" Sorry, guys...it's still just pizza crust. Did you take the picture Mom? Can I eat it yet?
Thumbs up! We stopped at the Disney store after we got pictures taken and Tess picked this tea set up with some of her birthday money. It's been a big hit! What a cute new outfit! Pink balloons and streamers everywhere!
All decorated and pretty. Tess wanted peanut butter and jelly for her birthday dinner, after she had had it for lunch. So we compromised and made peanut butter and jelly pizza. Doesn't get much better than dinner with sprinkles! She loves to push Tate around in this wagon. and Tate loves to ride in the wagon!
It's the birthday girl, and her mother-who is sporting a sparkly, itchy, fat-head squishing thing that had Tinkerbell on it that Tess made us buy and then (in true Tess fashion) refused to wear for longer than two seconds. "A pink pack pack!" Tess slept with this fancy princess Barbie. Happy Birthday Tess!
I had to help her just a little making the initial hole in the wrapping paper. Here's a cute sweater! Cute shirt! The cute shirt goes with the cute sweater and cute pants.
This is a really cool book! It has all 4 of the If You Give A ___ A ____ books plus music, recipes and cute games in it. Tess loves it! "Look! Princess!" Girl in sea of pink. Tess and her Happy Birthday Barbie.
Here's Mom explaining to Tess why this present is so cool! Playing with her new mic. Rockstar! Two mics! So Tess doesn't have to share!
Oh goodie! Tate wants to play too! The kids really liked this toy! Watch out American Idol! Look. Kids. Everywhere.
She got it on the donkey. That's good enough for me. Our kids are sure that you can't have a party without pin the tail on the donkey. Daddy giving Tess a teeny bit of help. Tess helped spin Daddy around for a game of stick the sticker tail on the donkey.
No peeking Dad! I'm not entirely sure Tess remembers who Tinker Bell is... More pinata string pulling... Look at me being a pinata stand.
Who ever decided to remove the bat from the whole pinata thing is a genius! Fighting over the pinata goodies. Our wide-eyed girlie. Tess and cake...
Woo Hoo! Time for cake! This is my favorite birthday shot this year! She grinned like this the whole time we were singing to her. Cheese! Hurry up Tess! Before Dylan explodes!
"How old are you now, Tess?" My kids only ever eat the frosting off of the cake. They eat the buttercream and leave the chocolate. Maybe they aren't really my children??? Tess loved wearing her new "pack pack." Cute girlie!
Ta da! Pretty cool huh! They went pretty quick after I got the hang of gum drop manipulation. Happy Birthday Tess!
The kids got these jammies for Christmas and I've been meaning to take a picture like this since then... so here it is. At least the boys are being cute. 2 out of 3 isn't bad... See that "Jared:tess?" She typed that "tess" all by herself!!! After Noah had his picture taken, Tess needed to get in on the fun too, even though she had no idea what was going on.
The kids are all "sharing" this book. Let's share the hammer! I'll share it with you first! Thump! Where's the detangler? Tess climbed up behind me in the computer chair to make sure my hair was neatly brushed.
Tess was really excited to have a turn. This shirt was just so Tess that I had to buy it. Just in case you can't read the fine print the reasons are: I look great in pink; You can't resist my pouty face; My sweet little voice; I can get away with pigtails; and Duh...because I'm cute. Our turn for Joy School again. The kids were trying to make a tower as tall as Tess.
The kids also made Snoopy out of fruit. Tess enjoying the Sprite she got at Sonic. This was, of course, after she cried all the way home that she actually wanted chocolate milk... Ahhhh, another Crookston kid photo shoot. We have a winner!!!
Tess calls this her quiet princess doll. "A Barbie car!" she squealed. Tess got these pretty Barbie dresses too. The kids also got this cool book full of jigsaw puzzles. They made us do all four of them in two days time, lucky for us they weren't really too difficult.
Here they (we) come on Christmas morning. Where did Tess go? Merry Christmas! Santa brought Tess this Christmas Morning Barbie, sporting snazzy Christmas jammies.
Tess inspecting her new wallet. Sorry girlie, Santa was too cheap to fill it. The kids played this butterfly game enough times to burn through 4 C batteries in one day! Tess calls these sparkly shoes her princess shoes. I hadn't ever played this game before today. Jared would say that I only liked it because I won.
"New pants for Noah!" Silly girlie... Grandma Glo and Ray sent the kids these nifty jammies with convertible feet. "For today's busy kids" is what it said on the back of the tag. Apparently today's kids are too busy to look for socks... Opening presents from Grandma Amy. Thanks Grandma Amy!
Tess and her velvet picture from Grandma Amy. It took some persuading and even a little force from her parents but Tess has learned to love this sweater, which is also sparkly. Cute dress, even if it is sideways in this shot. Amid the chaos.
This Barbie sings. and sings. and sings. and Tess loves her. "It's pink!" Are we done smiling? Can we play them now? Picture quality on Christmas morning can leave something to be desired.
Merry Christmas Baby Tess! Look! They're ignoring us! Baby blue was the color of her eyes...baby blue like something, something, something, something... Tate was happy once he had some paper in each hand. The other kids knew what to do...
Tess starting the New Jammie Dance! Tess was really excited about her new jammies. I was really concerned when they didn't have any pink ones in her size at the store but she didn't seem to mind. Decorating some beautifully cut out cookies with some delicious homemade frosting. More sprinkles!
Here Santa, have some cookie with your sprinkles. Wielding a plastic knife Tess ponders her next move... Mmmm...sugar! Look at them sitting nicely for a picture!
That's better! Here the kids are beating the snot out of some Ritz crackers for a Mock Apple Pie. It was surprisingly good! Tess and Daddy battling it out for the title. Tess stuck this donkey in her shirt and said, "I don't want you to have it."
The kids really like it. After the kids party at L3 Jared helped the people move the boxes of leftover toys, then they let him take home a few more. The kids are patiently waiting in line to meet Santa. Here are the kids with Santa. This was of course before Tess pulled on his beard...way to go Tess, fat chance the sleigh stops here this year.
No, look at Daddy. Tess! Look over here! Tess smile at Daddy! All ready to go home. New toys in hand.
The kids got some cute new outfits from Grandma Sowerby. Our little tomboy. Or not. Tess did all the red loops and Noah did all the green ones. Tate supervised the construction.
Tess put up all of the purple ornaments all by herself. Then, when she wasn't looking, Mommy moved a few of them to the top two-thirds of the tree. Noah and Tess are making a "big family" out of play-doh. Stupid tree was going for the striped light look this year. And Noah is still working on tying that garland into an impossible knot. Here the kids are coloring turkeys that Jared helped them make with their hand prints.
Not to be outdone Tess drew a cute face. Tess and her Baby. Tess doing double duty on her Halloween candy. Trying to decide which one is better. Hey girlie, I'll give you a hint...it's not the yellow one.
Tess helping Daddy with his hair after she got out of the tub. What a good daddy... Good Morning beautiful. Baby Tess chowing down on some pancakes and sausage.
Tess was a great helper when it came time to take the tent down. Daddy took Tess' bike on the campout. Looks like she enjoyed having it there. Here she is all packed up and headed home. I got out this hat for Tess before she left on the campout. I acutally bought it on clearance at WalMart thinking it would be a good stocking stuffer, but her old hat didn't fit her anymore.
Here's our girlie all ready to go camping. Tess and Andi on the father-daughter campout. Baby Tess is all ready for bed in Mommy's sleeping bag. Jared and the kids all ready for Trick or Treating.
Cute little chicken. Arrrr mateys. Sugar sugar sugar. We didn't let them eat too much at one time.
That's my girl. "Yucky, gross!" was all she said. This is after I said, "C'mon baby. Just poke it so I can take a picture." Noah just wanted to be in this picture. Tess didn't want anyone to help her hammer the pegs in the holes. After Jared poked the initial hole Tess could hammer the light peg in all by herself.
Okay seriously, I took way too many pictures of this part. Notice that Tess has commandeered the bowl of purple pegs all for her self. Look it's Tess. Pounding more pegs into the pumpkin. Woo Hoo! We're almost done.
Here's the first pumpkin Tess picked. And here's the one she picked after she changed her mind. After she set it on the cart it rolled off and headed down the hill...I wish I had had the camera on movie mode to catch her running after it and chewing it out. Here's my kids sitting nicely and smiling for a cute picture. Run Tess! Run!
Look! There's a monkey in the hay maze! Tess looks like she's about to conduct the hay maze orchestra. Really she's just celebrating her victorious climb to the top of that bale. More dancing in public. The kids dancing around at Michaels.
Tess is all set to start decorating the Halloween, ummm...not gingerbread house. The Halloween Chocolate Cookie House we'll call it, I guess. This is about when I started saying, "Quick, stick stuff on before the icing sets!" I still need to glue the big fluffy feather on his hat and make some boot like shoe cover things. Pretty cool... While Sam and I ran to the store Jared got this toy out for the kids. Noah picked it out for Jared for his birthday a couple of years ago but it is still a hit.
Tess squealed the whole time. I'm sure that any of you who know Tess would be shocked to hear that soon after this ride was over she started demanding a pink pony for her birthday. Tess and Peyton having lunch while Sam was teaching Joy School. Dance! Dance!
Kids are funny. The kids feeding the fish and turtles at a Joy School field trip. Going on a nature walk at a local park. From left Hope, Joey, Alyssa, Twyla (Hope's mom), Noah and Andi and then Baby Tess there on the end. Look at all that nature you guys!
The kids loved the merry go round. Sitting in the sun to warm up a bit. Tess wrote her own "T"! Isn't it cute!?! Tess is armed and adorable.
Stick 'em Up! The toys are always greener when they're closer to mom and dad. Tess drew these shapes all by herself. Poor Princess Tess. Her royal attitude landed her in timeout.
Tess helped herself to my mascara and concealer...she looks kind of funny without her upper lip. We bought this little pool at Wal-Mart on clearance. The kids love it! Cheesy Tess. The kids made what they called pepper soup in the laundry basket. Geee guys, it looks...good.
The kids were "good" while we were grocery shopping so we stopped and got a treat on the way home. Tess wanted to use lots of rubberbands, so I said okay. It looked sort of retarded in real life so I took it all out. Cheesy girl. We let the kids make their own little pizzas for lunch today.
Tess dug right into the toppings. Tess did more of a mountain of toppings in the middle of the pizza kind of thing. What a goofy smile. Baby Tess liked her cake enough that she licked all the crumbs off of the table.
How lady-like. What a cute little cake covered girlie. Tess put this roller in her hair and said, "I'm pretty! I'm like a mommy!" Tess freaking out about her freckle.
Noah and Tess were thrilled with their letters. Our little rockstar princess. This is only half of the mess that the kids made before they had been up for two hours today. I made them clean it up before I fed them breakfast, they got to eat at 11. Tess drew a picture of some trees. I'm very impressed.
And this is Tess's drawing of a whale. Tess, Andi and Ella in their dresses. Bekah and Sam and I were up until 2:30 in the morning on Saturday night making them. I am so proud of this dress! Noah wanted in on the photo taking session.
Here's the back. I saw this shirt at Target and just couldn't help myself. Mom pieced this quilt and I put the butterflies on. Now I just need to get it quilted. (UPDATE: I hate quilting and I'm sending the quilt back to mom...) Here's Tess in her new pajamas and movie star sunglasses. She wears them in the house, in the car, everywhere, as much as she can.
She also got this new Care Bear when I went on a trip. She learned to wear her sunglasses like that from Aubrey and me. Grrrr. Here's all six of the Crookston-Carter kids. As if you didn't already know: Noah, Andi, Tess, Dylan and then Peyton is looking at Tate in the swing, and that's Sam sitting behind the kids. Tess was a little unsure about the whole sparkler thing. At least she didn't try to eat them this year...
We got the kids all bathed and jammied and lined then up for fireworks, which just scared most of them. Tess and Andi playing with some sparklers. Tess was willing to hold the sparkler but she was still a little unsure about the whole thing. It was a little breezy, not too bad, but I had a terrible time trying to get one lit for Tess.
Tess was so cute in her little swimming suit. Maybe we should have hung the donkey a little lower, or gotten Tess a step stool. Okay, now it's Andi's turn. Noah's excited to open his presents.
Now the degree of difficulty has been removed, so the opening of presents resumes. Noah is opening a gigantic present from Grandma Glo and Ray. Ashli and Caleb got Tess a hula outfit in Hawaii. She wasn't much up for a picture, but even as she's running through the house, you can see that they don't come much cuter than this.
I think we are all set for Halloween. We were going to the baseball game later that night, and Noah didn't have a baseball cap that fit anymore. So Aubrey decided to give him this present just before we left for the game. Baby Tess stepped in to help Noah out. The kids thought that the slide show of pictures was hilarious.
All lined up and ready to walk. I taught Noah and Tess how to share a tricycle. They had way more fun together than they did each pedaling their own trikes. Tess colored her face purple with crayons.
We had a pack meeting at Rockwall's sprinkler park. The kids had a great time. It took Tess some persuasion to actually play "in" the sprinklers, as opposed to walking circles around them. Tess and I are splashing in a puddle. Tess is watching other people get wet.
Our kids are still mastering the art of looking at the camera. The kids are standing in a little rainstorm. We had the Carter's over for Memorial Day and the kids played in the sprinklers. Tess wouldn't go anywhere near the water volcano, she preferred to watch from afar.
Woo Hoo! Naptime! Grandma Sowerby bought Tess this pretty dress to wear to the wedding. Tess did this every time you told her how pretty her dress was. Here's the kids all ready to go and crash the reception.
A cute lookin bunch if I do say so myself. Bree gave Noah a strawberry, since they don't stain anything. Tess is giving her uncle Caleb a big slobbery kiss. Baby Tess dreaming about her own wedding cake.
Noah and Tess enjoying some refreshments. Look! It's Baby Tess on Mars! Tess loved this jewelry at the Crookston's house. Tess had a little trouble with the headphones.
Cheese! Tess wasn't as enchanted with the dinosaurs as Noah was. Tess put her books away all by herself. Tess is whipping up a delicious gourmet meal.
When Tess woke up, she put Noah's pants on. Tess figured out how to pedal her bike, with the help of the driveway slope. We got these cool butterflies to hang in Tess' room. Tess was all ready to go, with pretend breakfast in hand.
Baby Tess decided she would rather hold her chocolate bunny than eat him. She kept giving him kisses and saying "My Nummy." Here's Baby Tess modeling her new leggings and skirt. Cute cute cute.
I bought the kids one of those obnoxious golf sets at WalMart. It's been the best $4 I ever spent. Tess really liked to carry all of the baskets around. Looking for Easter eggs. Finding Easter eggs.
Baby Tess lookin' beautiful. She was the cutest girlie at church! They are hard to see here but the Easter Bunny brought Tess some cute flower earrings. How cute are my kids?
Another one of those candid favorites. Hold still. Smile. Don't drop the baby! Waiting for Mommy to be ready to dye Easter eggs. We had the kids color on the eggs with white crayons before we dyed them.
Baby Tess loved to drop the eggs in the dye. Probably why we had so many with dye on the egg after it was peeled... Tess & the eggs. Poor exhausted Baby Tess. I'm teaching Baby Tess how to stick out her lip and say "Please Daddy." So far Jared has been a total sucker for it!
Noah got these sunglasses in a goody bag from a birthday party. Tess helped herself to the rest of the Teddy Grahams. Caught blue-box-handed. Tess loved this corn on the cob.
Cutie Pie! Here's Baby Tess on her new "basickle." And here's Baby Tess running towards the street as fast as she can after coming to report that she had pedaled her bike two times. They had a good time riding around even though it was almost dark when we finally got outside.
We had some delicious Fettuccine Alfredo for dinner unfortunately Tess was too tired to eat it. I had to give her some Benadryl after I fed her a sweet potato chip (she's still semi-allergic) and it knocked her right out. Tess even liked it, though she was a little nervous about climbing out. We're trying out a 2008 Audi TT. Tess didn't really want to share a seat, so she got a reputation as "the girl that throws fits in Audis" that stuck with her as we bumped into random people throughout the day. She thought the passenger seat was just fine, as long as no one was sharing it with her.
I sat in a Saturn Sky to see if I could even fit. Happily, I could. Also happily, once Aubrey is in the passenger seat, the kids don't fit. Good date car. Baby Tess has bangs now. Baby Tess was a big fan of the pink. The kids were thrilled.
Tess looked so pretty in her new purple dress. We have such cute kids. The kids are all dressed up their new clothes. He he. Cute ponytail.
I made the kids go out and play since it was finally warm enough. What a cute girlie! After playing the Wii at the Carters house Jared and the kids tried shaking around our remotes. It wasn't quite the same. Tess got this cute outfit for her birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson.
We were all excited that it finally warmed up so she could wear it to church today. These are Tess' new shoes. (She screamed "Orange shoes!" at the store and they go with her new outfit so we bought them.) But we were laughing at the sticker stuck to her forehead when we took this picture. We finally took Baby Tess to the store with her birthday money from Grandma Ida. She picked out this cute purse and these pony tail doodads. "So pretty!"
Tess helped herself to a Special Dark bar and then ate through the wrapper to get to it. Here are the kids trying to soak the linoleum off of the bathroom floor. Tess woke up with a doll highchair in her bed, and she wasn't happy about it. I'd like to know how long it had been in there with her. Tess got some new puzzles from Grandma and Grandpa Crookston for her birthday.
Both Noah and Tess thought the puzzles were a lot of fun. This puzzle makes animal noises when you place the pieces in their spots. Tess wanted to give Baby Tate a kiss. And a stuffy nose. Tess has such pretty hair.
Happy birthday baby girl! Noah and Tess in their respective thrones. Tess got her very own baby doll. She was very excited to get her out of the box.
Noah got Tess this soccer ball. Baby Tess taking her birthday phone call from Grandma. Sweet girlie. Grandma and Grandpa Sowerby got Tess this little suitcase full of clothes and blankets for her doll.
Initially Tess was more interested in pulling it around than seeing what was inside of it. Hello Kitty! How cool is that?! Unloading the box from Grandma Glo and Ray. She really loved the cards and read them over and over again.
Diving right in. Somebody get it out of the box. She really didn't want to let go of the suitcase to open anything else. She started dancing as soon as she heard the music.
Tess reading her card from Grandma Ida. Packing her birthday cards into the backpack. Noah has had just as much fun with the doll and all her accessories as Tess has. The stroller is a big hit.
This is one of the cute blankets Grandma made for the doll. Starting to get the train out of the box. Back to the cards in the backpack. She kept trying to hold onto everything all at one time...
Still working on getting the train out of the box. Tess likes the monkey a lot. Happy birthday Tess. It goes when you push the little green thing on the front. Tess followed it around for a long time pushing the button.
What a cute girl. This is a cool toy! Taking dolly for a ride. Getting some help with the stroller.
So much to do... And she's off... Noah following the train around. Tess and Andi are ready for some cake.
Tess is getting ready to blow out the candles on her cake. She was so happy listening to everyone singing to her. Tess blew out her candles without spitting or needing any help. Tess eating her cake.
She did a pretty good job with her cake, not much of a mess. Tess having her cake. Tess got a strawberry-scented Care Bear from the Carters. Tess thought is smelled nice. Peyton thought it smelled allergilicious! Of course she is a fan of the card.
Tess is sitting in anticipation of opening her presents. Tess wanted to look at the pictures Grandpa had taken after her hair was done. Tess is opening her first present this morning. Tess loves all of her presents. She has had a lot of fun taking care of her Cabbage Patch doll and pushing her around in the stroller.
Tess is investigating her new Zoo Animal Train from Grandma Glo and Ray. Tess also loves her new Hello Kitty backpack filled with doll clothes and blankets and stuff. Tess played with the singing train while Noah popped bubbles. Tess watched the singing train sing and roll its way across the room.
All the kids are almost patiently waiting for cake. Our little sweetheart enjoyed her cake and ice cream. I think that this is when the laundry basket was being a boat. Cute little girlie.
I let the kids each lick a beater after I made the cake. You'd think that Baby Tess lived in Alaska somewhere. It has been really cold here in Texas lately... "Grandpa you're a couch." Baby Tess still loves to swing.
This is the coolest hat ever. It's nice to have something for the kids to do outside. Baby Tess really liked these biscuits. Look at all that hair...when did that happen?
Tess is "holding" her brother, who is "so cutie," if you ask her. Our attempt at a family picture. Tess wants nothing to do with the whole thing. Tess is being a ghost. She runs around saying Boo! Boo! BOO! Noah and Tess both love playing dress-up. Now if only he would stop raiding her box to do so. They each have a boa and high heels on.
Tess had a great time with her Watermelon slush from Sonic. She sucked all the liquid out and left the ice. This didn't stop her from then shaking the cup and banging it on the tray of the highchair to get a little more out. Baby Tess loves to get all dressed up. What a sweet little princess. The more accessories the better.
A couple of cute little kids. Baby Tess had to get in on the action too. We put this hat on Tess to make sure the popcorn ceiling didn't hurt her should her head accidentally touch it. Here are the kids coloring some thank you notes. We had to put these shirts on them because the stupid erasable markers they were using are NOT washable!
Here are the kids in the clothes they got at Old Navy with the giftcards from Grandma Glo & Ray. Noah got both the shirt and pants; Tess got the pants, slippers and hat. How cute is this hat? The kids were thrilled and kept saying "thank you" and "it looks great!" Noah got Baby Tess this cute princess chair. She calls it her "sit down."
Daddy and Tess are reading the cute book from Grandma and Grandpa Crookston called Fancy Nancy. It's about a little girl who tries to teach her plain family how to be fancy; they also sent along a pink feather boa for Tess. Santa brought Baby Tess this cute little dollhouse. Grandma and Grandpa Sowerby sent the kids this kitchen. The kitchen came with a chefs's hat, luckily it is adjustable so we were able to get it onto Noah's fat head.
We got Baby Tess a box of dress up stuff. How cute is this dress? Fancy Baby Tess... Merry Christmas Baby Tess. Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!
This is what you find when you're done doing something as selfish as fixing your hair before church. Holy Cow! Is Baby Tess really smiling in holiday pictures??? "I may look cute now but I'll soon make up for it during Sacrament meeting. He he he." This would have made a cute Christmas Card photo too.
Here the kids are getting all set to open the traditional Christmas Eve pajamas. From the looks of this picture you'd think that it took a great deal of concentration to open a present. It's as if her face cannot begin to convey how disgusted she is with this gift. Here the kids are decorating themselves, oops, I mean some cookies to leave for Santa. Hmmmm...leaving the kids for Santa...now there's an idea.
I was sure she was going to be stained this horrible neon red color for the rest of the week. Thank heaven it came off in the tub. Here are the kids in their new Christmas jammies. Merry Christmas! Some cute kids of the Crookston & Carter varieties. Noah, Dylan, Tess and Andi.
Baby Tess and Daddy in line to see Santa. Tess freaking out and Noah making a goofy face. This one turned out pretty good. Tess was pointing at Daddy, who just handed her right over to this creep, and Noah was wondering what all the fuss was about. The artist and her work.
Noah and Baby Tess rocking out to the wonderful singing Christmas reindeer. Look at the cute pig tails! "Cheese!" She just loved them.
What a cute girlie! Tess found a pair of wooden shoes at the Sowerby's house, and they were a perfect fit. She wore the shoes quite a bit, so they must not have been too uncomfortable. Tess was pretty scared of the cat for a couple of days, but eventually she got over it. And as soon as she did, the cat bit her.
Tess called the stethoscope her "beep beep" and whenever she would hold up to you she would say "Beep Beep, Beep Beep." Tess spent a lot of time looking out the door at Frankie and saying "Meow." Neither of them could stay too mad at the kitty for long, even if she did bite them both. She was just so dang soft and pettable. Daddy helping Tess with her shoes...she was so cute.
Baby Tess looked so pretty. The photographer was quite taken with Tess so we got a lot of cute pictures. More cute pictures of the kids at the wedding. I am running out of captions for the cute pictures of the kids at the wedding...
This was the winner for the Christmas Card this year...he he he. Baby Tess didn't want to be left out of the picture taking fun... Tess is wearing olives on her fingers for lunch. Tess thought the balls were lots of fun.
Noah and all his joy school friends. Tess snuck in too. The kids on the way out the door to go trick-or-treating. Noah accidentally ran into a handle and hurt his face yesterday, but he's forgotten all about that now. We carved pumpkins tonight for family night. Noah thought it was a mess. She looks adorable even if she's screaming in protest.
Here are the kids all dressed up for the ward Halloween party. Baby Tess is a pig in a blanket this year. (An idea we got off of food network when they dressed people up as pigs in blankets for an eating contest of...you guessed it pigs in blankets) He he he... Tess had so much fun in the bounce house. I only let her play in it when there weren't big kids.
After the trunk-or-treat, the kids were very excited about all the candy they were given. This is later in the night, after going to Walmart. Noah is fast asleep, and Tess is bouncing off of the walls, singing, "Halloween! Halloween! Trick or Treat!" Noah is teaching Baby Tess all about brushing her teeth. This morning Tess came out of her room in her finest accessories. What a little princess.
Here's Baby Tess in her awesome new Trogdor shirt! This could so be an ad picture for Smuckers. Baby Tess loves to sit at this table for lunch just like a big girl. Look how big she is getting...
The kids had a lot of fun looking at all the pumpkins tonight at the Pumpkin Patch. Tess wasn't really in the mood to pose for any pictures, though she did like to point at all the pumpkins she liked. Tess wanted nothing to do with "Cheese!" Tess loved running through the maze as well. She did not want to go home afterwards.
Baby Tess wanted to color a picture instead of taking a nap this afternoon. What a big girl. Baby Tess gets really excited when you turn the AC on in the backseat of the van. Looks like Baby Tess was a little worried about being evicted from the crib during the night...cute baby.
Tess loves to sit at this table. These cute jammies were a gift when Baby Tess was born. Look how cute and pink she is. After the kids made a big mess on the table with washable crayons they got to clean it up. It's too bad that they think stuff like this is a game...
Here are Noah and Tess, before all the barfing started. Tess would put her hat on Noah's head and then point and yell "hat!" Tess decided she would eat her french bread with a fork. Here's Baby Tess in her brand new little bed. She laughed and laughed as Mommy and Daddy tried to explain that she would sleep in that bed someday really soon...
The box isn't big enough for both of the kids to be in at the same time (it may look like it is but trust me it's not...) but it will provide us with a chance to try to teach Baby Tess to take turns, again. Funny girlie... One of Baby Tess's latest favorites is to try and blow things across the floor, table or high chair-like these goldfish crackers. She squeals with delight when they start moving. Baby Tess loves this spinny toy. She figured it out even before Noah did...
Awwww, how sweet. They're sharing. We sort of missed the moment here but it was really cute. Tess was standing on her head trying to put her feet into her shoes, which is hard to do when you're looking at the world upside down. Baby Tess was doing this really cute little butt-jiggy dance while wearing Noah's hat backwards. What a cutie!
The kids are ever so helpful when it comes to making dinner...I was standing to the right of Noah but this is the cute part of the picture. There was a butterfly on the window in the door. The kids were absolutely thrilled. (It's hard to tell with how dark the kids faces are, though.) It was the most exciting thing today for them. When I came home from work, I got to hear all about the butterfly (or in Tess's words, the Buddy-Bye).
Tess got her hands on Noah's shoes and wore them around for a while. They are huge on her, but she doesn't care. Tess just loves shoes of any kind. Noah really wanted to go out and play with the bubbles earlier today but I made him wait until Daddy was home just in case I needed to rush Baby Tess to safety. I guess she has overcome her fear of bubbles, not of the bath tub variety of course, and I'm not sure if that applies to the bubble machine at nursery yet...
She loved them! She was squealing "Bubbles, bubbles!" and clapping her hands. Noah was doing this psycho arm waving thing trying to pop them all as soon as possible while Baby Tess looked on with admiration. When you are little you can still go outside without pants and no one thinks you are creepy. This picture turned out really good.
Baby Tess and I had a little nap on Sunday before we took her into the doctor. Baby Tess has been working on learning to drink out of a real cup. She's doing pretty good but still ends up with a wet shirt quite often. Daddy makes a great horse. We may have to get some seatbelts installed to keep Baby Tess on. Mom and Baby Tess are playing in the park.
Tess did a lot of climbing up onto this platform. I tried to get a picture of Aubrey pushing Tess, but Tess tried to jump out. So instead we end up with a funny picture of Tess diving from the swing and Aubrey diving to prevent a head injury. Aubrey is helping Tess ride the springy bike toy. Tess kept wanting to go through this tunnel, but every time she tried she freaked out because the sand got her dirty.
Aubrey and all 3 kids (tee hee) riding the swings. Baby Tess dove right into her sandwich at Subway. It was so funny. She also really liked the kids room at CarMax. It was awesome to have somewhere for the kids to play. This is the cute outfit that we got for Tess at Toys R' Us for less than $5.
This outfit is the last one that I have left from the baby shower. It is sooo cute. What a cute little girl. Poor Baby Tess...I hate it when they look sick like this. Luckily we were able to get her into the doctor pretty quick and she should be totally better in a few days. We were thrilled that we finally got a picture of Baby Tess showing off her teeth. She really like popsicles, or as she calls them "pah-cles."
He he he. How cute is that little girl? I would say baby but she sure doesn't look like a baby in this picture. Baby Tess was really enjoying this riding in the dump truck game. So much so in fact, that she had to be forcefully removed and detained for a moment while Noah had a turn. We finally got to do Baby Tess' hair like this. Everytime I look at it it makes me smile. Poor little red baby after the car ride home. She loves to sit at the table and eat her breakfast and various snacks during the day.
The kids coloring a picture in my notebook...at least they are doing it together...and getting along. Baby Tess has turned into a cute little monkey. She loves to climb onto the computer chair and push as many buttons as she can before she is moved back to the floor. She had no interest in getting in the bubbles herself but was ready to run for help should they suddenly start attacking Noah. She stood there the whole time he was in the tub shrieking that there were "bubbles!".
I'm not really sleeping in this picture, the flash just got the best of me. But look how cute Tess is! We were trying to get a picture of this cute smiling thing that she does with her eyes shut and all her teeth showing. This isn't quite it but it's still really really cute. What a funny baby! Well we got some pictures of her teeth anyways. She has five now, the four on the top and one on the bottom.
Baby Tess looked so cute all dressed up to go to church that we just had to take a picture. The headband didn't make it out of the car though... Baby Tess was less than happy about sharing her bath with some Mr. Bubble. Our little glamour girl all dressed up with no place to go. Noah made this "train" out of everything he could move in the livingroom.
He kept trying to get Jared and I to ride the train too, but we were poor sports so eventually he loaded it up with stuffed animals. Poor sweaty Baby Tess fell asleep on the way home from church with her sunglasses on. She's all sweaty because the AC in the Civic died and it was above a hundred degrees that day...stupid car. Don't worry we got her out and hydrated promptly after taking this picture. Baby Tess was totally baffled when we turned her carseat around. But I guess she wasn't the only one; Noah kept asking us to turn her back around. The kids ran around in their Mickey/Minnie Mouse hats for quite a while on Sunday morning.
Baby Tess loves to talk on the phone, just not when there is someone on the other end. After we played outside for a minute we had to come in and have a popsicle. Baby Tess finished hers in a matter of minutes, I was impressed. She gets so excited when she acctually gets the train going. Baby Tess was supposed to be getting in the tub to clean all the dinner out of her hair. I guess she just couldn't resist diving into this mess...
Even though Tess had quit having fun doing this and wanted out, we had to get a picture or two before we extracted her from the dollhouse. She even had my phone next to her just in case her parents kept taking pictures instead of getting her out and she needed to call for help. Tess looked so cute dressed up for church. She was fascinated by a couple of Mom's barrettes. We took the kids to the park after dinner today.
Daddy is still a kid at heart... Baby Tess really did like the park...even if the camera didn't capture her enjoyment. Baby Tess just wanted to taste it. I think this is right about where we decided to wait until tomorrow after the big fireworks to do the rest, since it would be dark by the time we got home. Tess wore her cowboy hat and bracelets to breakfast this morning.
We aren't really sure who started the lunch time food fight, but we figured Tess wasn't quite old enough to use the vacuum. I didn't want to have my picture taken while eating cake but Baby Tess was only too happy to smile for the camera. What a cute chocolate covered sweetheart. We held Baby Tess upside down and made her laugh so we could get a picture of her cute little teeth!
A blanket over the couch=a really cool fort, and mom is a genius. I love her hair! See she is so cute! We had to take a picture. I have to keep reminding myself that the mess is already cleaned up.
Baby Tess really likes to sit in the middle of Noah's train. She really likes the noises that the controller makes. I've been working on the railroad... I love her cute little curls.
Mommy found this super cute shirt for Tess. Tess apparently preferred Noah's carseat to her own. Tess already thinks that she's old enough to be climbing up slides. Tess enjoyed this trip even more than the last one, I think.
She got really good at climbing up and down the oversized stairs on the climbing toy. Tess rode the Barney train over and over and over again. She loved pushing the buttons and spinning the wheel in the train. Tess would have been happy to ride that train all evening.
Dinner time, and Tess was hungry. It's hard to concentrate on eating when so much is going on all around you. Tess was diving to get in on a game of Air Hockey. Tess had a lot of fun riding in the monster truck.
After a couple of turns, she was ready to get down. Tess decided she would rather have soda than whatever is in her sippy cup. Tess sure looks excited to be clapping her hands. Poor Baby Tess was a little red and puffy after we got her home from surgery on Monday.
The redness was due to the medicine they used to wake her up and she was puffy from the IV. We're really glad that she's all fixed up. She was much closer to her original color by the time dessert came around. Here she is enjoying some strawberry short cake. Tess was digging around in Grandma and Grandpa's bags.
Tess had a lot of fun playing with all of her family. Megan enjoyed the wireless internet at Hotel Crookston. Tess came over for some candy, too. Putting Baby Tess' earrings back in after surgery.
Our cute little girly. Munch munch, it's time for a messy lunch. After Tess's surgery, she couldn't take a real bath for a few days. But she did get to play with her name bracelets. Sometimes, when you wash Tess's hair under the sink, she laughs.
Not a lot of laughter this time. What a pretty little girl. What a crazy curly-haired girl. Tess decided she wanted in on the coloring.
At the Dallas World Aquarium, Tess spent a lot of time leaning out of her stroller to peer at the animals. Tess spend most of the day like this, trying to get a better view. What a sweet little baby. She still has the biggest eyes, and it's true that she's Bunches of Fun.
We seemed to have a difficult time getting her to smile while looking at the camera. She didn't have a problem smiling otherwise, though. Tess was so excited about the blue poison frogs. They were very brightly colored. There were turtles and rays swimming around in a very busy pond. Tess was excited about everything she saw. No fear at all.
What a happy family. Tess loved her frozen custard. Tess was excited to see everything from the moment we arrived. If she could pull herself closer to the animals, she would.
Noah and Tess and I got some upclose views of the Giant River Otters. Tess enjoyed getting rides to see all the birds and monkeys. Tess liked these fish a lot. She was transfixed. You might even say she found them hypnotic.
Tess rubbed lots of Mac and Cheese in her hair during lunch. I think that this may be Baby Tess' first Dum-Dum sucker. I guess it's not like we're rotting any teeth out of her mouth... The best seat in the house? Dad.
We bought Baby Tess this little purse while we were out today. It came with a bunch of girly junk in it and we let her keep the bracelets. Such a cute little girly-girl. Tess felt a little left out of the picture taking, so here she is showing off her fork-weilding skills. Tess pulled her wagon around the house for quite a while today. She put her bear and a couple of toys inside of it, and then gave them a tour of the house.
Tess did not want cheerios this morning, she insisted on Marshmallow Mateys. Baby Tess pausing just long enough to have a drink. I really don't know where she puts it all. Poor Baby Tess didn't like to be up in the baby climber they had.
The slide was much better. (That's our friend Elisa Snow over there on the left.) Baby Tess ate two pieces of pizza and two pieces of cake. (From left: Tess, Brother Ash, Sam and William.) Sam and William both like Tess, it is so funny. Funny baby. She was so tired but she just kept eating and eating. The Father-Son's campout is coming up this weekend, so we bought a tent.
Tess also had a lot of fun running around the tent, too. The kids had a dance party inside the tent. Tess likes to wear the rings from the ring stacker toy as bracelets. They fall off of her arms when she reaches down for things, but she puts them back on over and over.
There's nothing quite like curling up in a big comfy easy chair to read a book. Tess didn't want to miss out on the fun either. Tess had lots of fun getting splashed by the rain. Noah and Tess were playing basketball tonight.
It's a bit too high for Tess, but she likes throwing the ball anyways. Noah likes to encourage her by saying "Almost close, Baby Tess!" Noah likes to try and dribble. He usually smacks the ball a couple of times before it escapes. Big breath and then... blow with all your might, and some of your spit!
Baby Tess was okay as long as someone was holding her. Our little bathing beauty. Me and Baby Tess getting all wet. All ready to go in and have a bath before bed.
Baby Tess got a really cute hat too. Yee Haw! Me and Tess ready for church. Here we go with Baby Tess crying in the holiday pictures.
Really I'm not kidding. Look at the Valentine's Day pictures, and the Christmas Pictures...she cries in all holiday pictures. It seems to be a rule of Baby Tessdom. She does, however, really like this hat. Baby Tess is a little too young to join in on the egg coloring fun so we kept her entertained with mini M&M's. She used them to color her face.
Ta Da! And now on to bedtime. This picture was even funnier before I took the red-eye out. Baby Tess was modeling her new nightgown.
Sometimes we get a little camera happy. It's really hard not to take a million pictures when they are being so cute! Noah loves to push Baby Tess on the swing. Sometimes he forgets to pay attention and the swing clocks him, but for the most part they both enjoy it.
Baby Tess says "Wheeeee!" What cute kids we have! He he he! I have been waiting to do this for a long time! Baby Tess's first pedicure.
This really cute dress was a baby shower gift. It is a little big, but still really cute. Tess hates to have her hair done but she doesn't touch it once it's done. Hmmm...so cute.
What a sweet girlie. This may have been Baby Tess's first Oreo. Looks like she's a fan. Feeding the ducks at Nate and Ashley's house.
We took one more of these for Ashley but somehow they both ended up here. Baby Tess having a nap on the LoveSac. Baby Tess and Daddy sharing an ice cream bar. Baby Tess enjoying Sunday dinner.
Hi cute girl! Having lunch (or rather ice cream) at Arctic Circle. Baby Tess thought the slide was thrilling! It took her a few days to warm up to everybody.
What a cutie! Baby Tess loved these glasses! She wore them for about an hour. We can't tell if she is going to grow up to be a doctor or Harry Potter.
It is hard to keep glasses in place with a little button nose like hers. Tess loved her spaghetti tonight. Her method is a bit unconventional, but it sure worked for her. It worked out for her, but she was sure a mess afterwards.
She is so covered in spaghetti sauce that she looks like a little tomato. Noah was kind enough to loan Baby Tess his hard hat while she masters walking. Cute wobbly baby butt! Do a little dance...
Walking is a lot of work and makes Baby Tess really tired. Noah and Tess love to play peek-a-boo with each other. Noah likes to stand behind Tess when she is in the highchair, and they peek around the sides of the chair and laugh at each other. How can this possibly be comfortable??? Here's the youngins' enjoyin' some banana puddin'. "Hey this spoon is pretty cool!"
Noah and Tess sure love these puzzles! She holds the phone, or anything in her hand, up to her ear and says, "he-whoa?" Tess loves the little butterfly pulls on her fan. What a cute girly fan!
Baby Tess is modeling her new jeans and sneakers. Here is Baby Tess dancing in her new jeans and sneakers. What a beautiful girl! Must not drop the baby.
Baby Tess and her blankie. Tess likes to get into things. Baby Tess having a delicious dinner. Cleaning up Baby Tess after her second belgian waffle!
Let's put some pounds on this baby! Our kids looking pretty sharp before church. Hmmmm. So cute. Holy cow! How many of these did we take?
We had a bit of trouble getting used to the nuances of disposable camera photography. Tess is all dressed up for church. The kids are looking sharp. Baby Tess enoying some antipasta at Luigi's.
Go speed racer! Go! Look at how cute my kids are! Grandma was trying to get a picture of the kids smiling. Awwww...how sweet.
They are so cute when they are sleeping. I am not sure why Baby Tess cries in holiday pictures... Look! Baby Tess has morning hair!!! How cute! She finally has enough hair to wear barrettes! Aubrey is just so excited!
Tess loved her the ice cream, and never put it down. Peek A Boo! Daddy made Tess "Strawberry" Banana smoothie and she thought it was the greatest. Baby Tess sure likes cookies.
Happy Birthday Baby Tess! Looks like we all better watch our toes. It's sort of a point and shoot operation with Tess. Noah picked out this little bucket of blocks and she loved it! The adorable doll that mom spent hours on didn't get a second glance...
What a sweet birthday girl! This soft little piano is way cute! Back to the blocks. This is the way cute outfit that Grandma and Grandpa Crookston sent!
How cute is that!? I love it! It's a little baby rain coat! Here is one of the cute outfits from Grandma Glo. Tess really doesn't like getting dressed. She had just about had enough of the fashion show at this point.
Last one girlie, I promise! Tess making off with her birthday booty. What a sweet little cruising baby! After this we gave up on getting her to look at the camera and smile.
It took her a whole year but Tess finally found the Tupperware cupboard. After birthday spaghetti it was time for cake so we decided to skip the whole wiping the baby up thing. Killer nose itch! This whole lighting the birthday cake on fire thing is a little creepy for Tess.
Wait a second, this is kind of cool! Did you see that cake? It was awesome! Look what she gave me! Wow! This is so good!
Num Nummy! Enough with this poking the frosting bit... We got Tess some new sippy cups in an effort to adios the bottle. Remains of the Cake
Wanna know the secret for younger looking skin...and in this case hair? It's the Alice Potato Mask! Tess had her first Twix bar tonight. Tess did a good job making a mess with the chocolate, but since she doesn't have teeth the cookie presented quite a challenge.
The kids are playing together and having a blast. I love that the two of them get along so well. This birthday present for Baby Tess (the toy box) arrived a few days early. She loves it and so do Mommy & Daddy! These two are such a riot together.
They were playing and having so much fun, but Noah decided he was in a No Camera mood. I suppose I can't blame him. But Mom insisted that we have a good picture of the two of them in the bathtub, so we kept trying. Well, at least they are both looking in the right direction. Maybe another day we'll worry about smiles. Tess got a new doll from Grandma Ida. Tess obviously liked holding the new doll, or as Noah calls it, "the baby."
Here it is folks! Dress #2. By the time summer is over we should have this sundress thing down pat! She is such an adorable little model. I remember doing this with Noah. Tess loved the Jell-O! It was so funny to watch her try to pick up the whole thing... We went outside to play and it was a little brisk so I broke out the gloves and hats. I wish hers wasn't too small already.
It might be too small but it is still cute. Aubrey made this new dress for Baby Tess. I took this picture while Aubrey was finishing up the bloomers. Aubrey made it with her new sewing machine. Tess looks so cute in her new dress.
Aubrey has had the sewing machine for less than a week and she is already a pro. Whatever works. You'll have to excuse the kids, they are on a "smile-at-the-camera" strike. Just pull the wagon already! Wagon riding will be even better once the sidewalks are all finished.
Noah loves swinging with Baby Tess. It was still seventy five degrees at sundown this evening. These kids are so dang cute! We're going to try to get a decent picture this week. Tess looks pretty dang cute!
Look at that supermodel pout! She may look all cute and innocent but if you look to the left you'll notice that she is just trying to escape from her shoes. Geeze I hope this is the last one of these pictures... Noah is sitting in the giant dump truck that Santa brought him. It came with this hat and it actually fits on his head!!!
The train set and the green dinosaur are both from Grandma & Grandpa Sowerby. Good picks on both by the way! These are the new clothes and shoes that we got Tess. You can also kind of see the activity chair that Great Grandma & Grandpa Johnson got her. It has a bunch of buttons and toys on it that Tess really likes. It's really hard to get a picture of her smiling while she is swinging so disregard the look of boredom on her face in this picture. She really does love swinging. Closer to smiling than the last one anyways. We put her in here and she laughed and laughed and kicked her feet, it was so cute.
On Christmas Eve the kids get to open their brand new pajamas. Noah wanted to keep opening things and Tess just wants to go to bed. I was trying to put a clean diaper on the girl when she decided she had had enough. She rolled over, and while I held her back end up in an effort to keep the diaper at least partly on, she started walking on her hands towards the Christmas trees. This table and chairs set is a combined birthday gift for the kids. Thank you Grandma Glo! They just love it! Everytime you walk by Noah asks you to sit down, it is so funny.
What a sweet baby! She has mastered pulling herself up on things. This is how we usually find her after she sleeps. See...smiley, grumpy and goofy. Like dwarfs but different. Maybe we'll get a better picture next week. She loves to stand here and look out the window. She is such a sweetie. Tess was very suspicious of the big guy.
She decided he must be okay, though she never let him see her smile. This was the first time that we saw her pull herself up to stand! Clever little dear. Dang babies grow up way too fast...
The ball pit suffered an unfortunate death so we put all the balls into this kiddie pool. The kids just love it! We have the cutest kids. The kids in their 'winter' duds. She is such a cutie!
Here are the kids in their Mickey Mouse hats. We were trying to get them to smile at the camera, and not just at each other. What happy campers! No, they aren't being scolded. One of the best ways to get them to smile is to shake your finger and in an animated kind of voice say, "Bad Cat!" It usually brings on all kinds of laughs and smiles.
Sometimes it doesn't last very long though... Tess loves the wipes box! It is a really good way to lure her to the other side of the room. This was our Christmas card photo this year. These kids sure are cute together.
Tess loves to play outside. Tess loves the redesigned ball pit. What a cutie! The turkey was thawing in a bucket in the tub, so Tess had to use the sink.
What can I say??? Tess sometimes stands up on things. Tess absolutely loves M&M Minis. Tess is covered in cereal.
Tess loves to drink out of sippy cups, even if she needs help holding it up sometimes. Tess loves to look at the world upside-down. We made some cake when the missionaries came over for dinner. Tess loved it. Mommy and Tess read a story before going to bed every night.
Tess got into the pantry. What a cute little explorer. Noah wasn't eager to share his candy at all. No one can touch the candy without upsetting him.
While Noah and I were trick or treating, Tess got some one on one time with the camera. Tess is very good at waving. She even makes a noise that sounds something like the word "Hi"; while waving. Her little fairy wings are so cute on her. Little crawling girl.
Tess is always so cute. Tess is very cute in her new outfit. She gets around so quickly now. Noah is teaching Tess to crawl.
She is practically a pro now. These two love playing with each other. Tess loves to do headstands and look between her legs. Tess is sampling an ice cream popsicle.
She thought it was delicious. Tess loves to feed herself snacks. This little girl is practically crawling. She can shuffle a bit, but within a couple of days she'll be going everywhere. We got the kids some new church clothes the other day. Here is Tess in her new dress. This is her 'do-something-fast-because-I-am-going-to-cry' face.
Then we went and borrowed a key. Soon we'll be able to take lots of pictures of our kids in the house. Aubrey bought this costume in Colorado as soon as we found out that we were having a baby girl. Doesn't she look cute in it? Aubrey and Tess had a great time swinging together, too. My girls on the swing.
We sat Tess up in the grocery cart at Walmart. She did a great job, as long as you didn't turn too quickly. She thought it was a lot of fun, though. Just for fun, I put a clip in Tess's hair. She doesn't have quite enough to keep it there yet, but it sure looks cute on her. We bought a swimsuit for Tess. I think it looks very cute on her.
Tess loves to sleep with her little bear. Noah and Tess were playing together on the floor. He was holding her feet, rolling her back and forth and clapping them together. She was laughing hysterically. We moved Noah to a booster seat, and gave the high chair to baby Tess. They are both growing up so fast. Tess loves to chew on Zwieback toast.
Tess is such a cutie! Tess is sitting up so well now. She can play with so many more things now that she can sit up. Tess is sleeping in her new car seat. Sadly, she has grown out of the baby carrier. Aubrey brought this out with no legs on it, and Tess thought it was so much fun.
This is an outfit that Grandpa and Grandma Johnson sent from Vietnam. Poor baby Tess had a fever. She is sleeping on her side now, it makes her look so big. Tess is playing with balls that Grandma sent for her. Tess has the cutest chubby cheek smile.
For some reason Tess looks a lot like Noah when she drinks juice. We got some cute jeans for Baby Tess. Tess had such a huge smile on until we got the camera out. Maybe some tickling will help...
Panic begins to set in. Enough tickling I suppose. We've got the cutest kids. This is the picture we have in our living room. The dress is from my aunt Cindy, and the hat is from Aubrey's grandpa. They match so well, though.
Grandpa and Grandma Johnson sent this cute hat to Tess. It perfectly matches the dress that my Aunt Cindy sent. She looks soooo cute and girly! Tess is getting really good at sitting up now, at least while in the boppy. Sitting up sure tires her out though.
We've been feeding Tess solid food now for a while, but it seems she is getting messier and messier each day. I love how he is smelling the flower. Noah had just turned 2, and Tess was only 6 months old. It was getting close to bedtime, but our kids were having fun playing together.
They really do a good job of entertaining themselves. We took our kids to see the fireworks, and they loved it! We were worried they would be terrified, but Tess watched the whole display wide-eyed. Tess hung out in the shade while we were swimming. Tess was an angel almost the entire trip. They kept commenting on how quiet and nice she was.
Our little girl has earrings now! They are very cute on her. I think they make her look balder than before, but they are very cute on her still. I think I was talking to Aubrey and Tess was twisting all the way around to look at me.
She likes to look to where the noise is coming from. She was getting fussy so I picked her up and she fell right asleep. She usually doesn't fall asleep when I'm holding her, but she must have been really tired. Yum yummy!
Tess is eating solid foods now. She did a good job eating right from the start. She likes to stand up more and more. Her exersaucer is becoming a favorite toy. What a beautiful baby.
A couple of kids in diapers. Noah loves giving Tess kisses. He even says "I love you Baby Tess!" She has grown so much! I don't know whether to smile or cry. She loves to let you give her kisses. In return, she'll chew on the tip of your nose.
Pat the Bunny is one of Tess's favorite toys. Nice pick Uncle Brandon and Aunt Ashley! Tess recently learned how to use her hands to play with toys. She's not great at it yet, but it's really cute to watch her learn. We found the shirt at Babies 'R Us and the skirt at Old Navy. We were then sure that Tess would be the cutest baby at the wedding. Isn't she the most adorable little girl?
It took ages to find a cute outfit for Tess to wear to Brandon's wedding. This headband was the first part we found. Tess on the Boppy. What a cutie! Tess has the most adorable little smile.
She was so cute that Aubrey couldn't get enough of her. Aubrey decided we would stop taking pictures when Tess stopped being cute, so this could go on forever. See told ya! We've been told that she has very striking features.
Okay I think that is about enough... Bath time for little girlies. We took this picture on June 1st when Tess received her name and blessing. This was the same dress that Aubrey was blessed in.
She was very good for the whole blessing. What a cute family. Here's a new five generation picture with Tess. While I was taking these, I had a little trouble concentrating on getting everyone centered at the same time that everyone was looking.
This one is more centered, but no one is looking. After this last attempt, I gave up. This is our smiley girl. One of the ladies that Aubrey used to visit teach in Denver made this adorable hat for Tess. For some reason, she looks scared in this picture. However, if her hands weren't in front of her mouth, you would see that she loves being lifted in the air.
Tess loves to hang out and sit in laps. This is our sweet girl all dressed up for church in a new dress. I didn't do a great job taking the previous picture, so Mom took over to do a better job. Look at how beautiful she is!
She is such a sweet smiley baby, we could take pictures like this all day long. I took some pictures of this with my phone to use as a background on the phone. She is such a pretty girl! She's getting so big so fast. It's unbelievable.
I almost never know what to type for the captions for Tess. Basically I just use variations on the Tess is a cutie theme, because that's generally the only reason we're taking pictures. I love this cute little baby. We realized that Tess is big enough to start sitting in the exersaucer. She does a pretty good job in it. When we picked up the green cubes, we had no idea what good baby chairs they would make.
She's so happy sitting up in Noah's chair. She holds her head up so well now. I love my smiley baby! Isn't she the most beautiful girl ever? I suppose the last few pictures show her descent from joy to happiness to anxiety. We stopped taking pictures before panic set in.
So far both of our kids have had a few baths in Grandma's sink. Tess loves being held by her Grandpa. He loves holding his grandkids, so it works out pretty well for them. Tess looks so cute in hats. Grandma also loves cuddling her little baby (just like everyone who gets to see how cute she is.) These next few pictures are for Tess and her baby book. Here she is with her Great-Grandma Glo.
Tess with (from the right) her Great-Great-Grandma Ida, her Great-Great-Aunt Fran, and her soon-to-be Great-Great-Uncle Gordon. Here's Tess with her Aunt Bree. Tess with Grandma and Grandpa Crookston. Tess seems a little bit happier in this picture.
Nate, Tess, and Nate's fiancee Ashley. Or Ashlee. Or maybe Ashleigh. I'm going with Ashley, but if I'm wrong, please correct me. Tess with her Uncle Josh. Tess and her Uncle Caleb. Sort of. She's rolling over, but she decided she'd rather just relax than show off.
It was windy and very cold out, so Noah and Tess and I hung out in a very cramped front seat for a few minutes. Noah also wanted to go through Tess's basket. She got a pretty dress for Easter. Chilling on the couch. Laid back. Tess looked adorable in her dress and bunny slippers.
My beautiful girls dressed up for Easter. Somehow she is comfortable sleeping draped over my arm. Cuddle her close in a blanket, and she falls right asleep (except for when you really need her to). She takes her best naps on somebody's lap.
Be prepared for a flood of the cutest smiles you've ever seen. She even tried to laugh while we were taking these pictures. She's way too young to be smiling this big but we are glad that she is. What a sweetheart!
She's so cute. We bought the chair for Noah in an effort to keep him out of the baby seats. It looks like we've double-crossed him. She's holding her head up pretty well. We let Noah "hold" Tess the other day, and he just loved it. He was very gentle with her, and had the biggest smile on his face the whole time.
Sweet baby taking a nap in the bassinet. Aubrey loves bathing two kids. She's got a pretty good system down, though. We wanted to capture for posterity some of Tess's smiles. She really gets smiley when we clap her hands together, so we figured we do this until we either lost patience or got a good smile.
She lost patience before we did. She is such a little cutie! Though Aubrey's favorite color for herself is purple, Tess gets to be all pink. She does enjoy lounging in the Boppy at times.
Tess is getting better and better about sleeping on her back. And isn't the blanket lovely? Tess likes to hang out on this blanket, and Noah likes it when the blanket is out, too. He prefers the stuffed animals. He's good at identifying "Pooh!" though Tigger and Piglet still need a little work. Tess was intently staring up at me with her mouth wide open. Of course I had to try and make the same face back at her.
Tess was 3 weeks old in these pictures. 3 week old Baby Tess in her blessing dress. What a cutie. She already likes the game where we clap her hands together.
Her eyes seem to light right up. She looks so sweet with the bow on her head. We have let her take a couple of naps in the crib. She seems to sleep quite well in it. Better than she does in the bassinet, at least. She looks so sweet when she's sleeping. But be warned, looks can be deceiving.
Here are Noah and Tess in their new dual stroller. Thank you Grandma Glo. Tess's first bath. She seemed to enjoy her bath, more or less. Tess sometimes isn't such a fan of Boppy lounging.
Tess really feels comfortable in her new bouncy chair. Stretching out in her new favorite place to relax. We were trying to get her to fall asleep, but she was wide awake. Noah likes to give his little sister kisses.
I told you I make a good hammock. Or mattress, or something. Mom is looking gorgeous and she delivered Tess less than 3 days before. We knew Noah had grown, but the size difference was much more than we had expected. Tess and Daddy are taking a nap. I make a pretty good hammock.
Tess isn't really a fan of bathing yet. Here's a cute mug shot for the masses. Tess was so alert and awake. I tried the clapping the hands together trick that Noah loved so much. She seemed to enjoy it, but it's a bit early for smiles yet.
Here is Tess getting ready to come home. Not so much a fan of getting dressed. All dressed up for the trip. Here she is in the giant car seat, ready to go home.
I don't wanna go! Noah was very pleased to have her home (for now.) He kept pointing and saying Baby! Tess was born at 1:36 in the afternoon on January 25th. She weighed 6 pounds 15 oz.
She was 20 1/4 inches long. Her head was 13 1/2 inches around. She loves her mommy very much. She is so pretty! She loves being held by her family. Compared to Noah, she doesn't weigh a thing. She is the most beautiful baby girl!
Tess is grabbing her mother's hand.
