Tate and Soni feeding the ducks on what's left of the lake... it's usually about five feet deeper than this. Tate's first day of Loner School with Sam and Soni. Tater Bug walking to Sam's house for school. He's still annoyed that he doesn't get to walk there or back alone.

Slip n Slide Tater. And Tate again... Hi spud.
Spot the nerd on the train. Tate and his dinosaur. Monsters on Easter 2011 My three sons.
Tate and I working on the stupid punch out and glue together paper creatures that the Easter Bunny brought. Not sure why the rabbit is such an idiot sometimes. Monsters in the blue bonnets 2011. Sadly, this was as good as it got.
No shame at all. Tate doesn't need paper, he's got a head to color on! To be fair it was almost 9 o'clock.
Tate's first soccer game. It was freaking freezing. My little lefty concentrating on writing his name. Tate the watercolor master. By the third snow day we all looked like this...
Tate was VERY excited to get to go to library time with Tess on Monday. The librarian read both of the books to the kids and there was so. much. giggling. He dove into gift opening ASAP! And freaked the cat out really bad...
Tate loves this zoo, even if I don't have any pictures of it put together yet... What a cutie... He really was excited about this game that the other kids got him... it's nice that he can play it all by himself without any trouble.
This also freaked out the cat. :) Tater has his own mp3 player now... I SOOOO love these headphones on him. What a stud. He's so dang cute. Whacking some moles.
Shaving. :) All the little monsters with their shirts and their monster feet... so cute. Being scary AND distracted by a pizza bearing monster. Scary monsters!
Tate loves the remote control monster truck Carleigh picked out for him... aren't they adorable? I love Will's face... he cracks me up! Tate was so excited that it was his birthday that he tore into his present from the Carters as soon as they got in the door... little nerd.

Grandma and Tater. Just watching makes me dizzy. After this Noah got brave enough to ride Tony Hawk.
Love this picture. That kid is so funny.
Tate LOVES the batman ride. Here's Tate being too short to ride something. Yep. Monsters.
Tess really was very excited that the boot ride wasn't broken this time. Grandma looks remarkably calm considering who her driver is. The kids ran up into this gazeebo thing and started dancing... and Tate told me to take a picture.
This game has been really cool!
The kids gave Daddy a new footprint shirt... we'll have to get a picture next time he wears it. And more steering wheels, so we don't have to share. The kids pooled these giftcards to order a new game for the wii. Hahaha... we couldn't resist.
It's pajama time! Tess says, "Look there's that picture of Tate ruining the cookie." So. many. cookies.
Okay... let's try one more time. Ugh... maybe one more...
Okay I give. That'll have to do. Jared snuck into the boy's room to get Noah to come see and Tate sqeauled "Can I come see?" Time for the annual destruction of the candied house. They downed the whole house without any fistfights. I'm proud of them.
They had 3 bounce houses at the Children's Christmas Party at work, and the kids headed over to enjoy them while it was crowded inside. Tate did a good job climbing the ladders in the obstacle course ones. One of the few moments Tess was just enjoying the bounce house, rather than racing Noah through the obstacle course portion. The kids loved taking the train back to the main area.
Tate wanted a skateboard. Tate thinks that this Mickey Mouse is the best present he has ever gotten. Everyone hard at work. "Put a candy on the house, put a candy in the mouth" was Tate's motto.
Mom was the true architect behind the best-constructed house in the room. Monster photo shoot 2010 Cute little turkeys.
Awww...dang Tate. Not looking at the camera, that one could have been good. I LOVE that face that Jack makes. LOVE it. TATE! LOOK AT THE CAMERA!
Winner winner. Tess is cold. Can you tell? Oh brother.
I seriously almost sent this one out in Christmas cards. Maybe I should have. It's much more accurate than the other one... Tater Tot decorating the tree. It would appear that a certain small dork was playing with the camera.
Nerd. A self portrait. Taken November 27, 2010. Tate and Peyton watching a movie. Awww... Cute little stinkers. Just so we don't suck as parents here's some pictures of Jack in his first Halloween costume.
Halloween 2010 and the only picture we got of Jack in the lion costume. We suck. Boys, like pumpkin guts, are disgusting. Yep. Disgusting. Hop along Tater.
Monsters at the Pumpkin Patch. It was very windy. That would explain why they were making noise for so long this evening. Tate was so excited by his little boat. Tate's little dinosaur,
Me and Tate being silly. What a funny kid. "Tess! Stop it!? I told them I would take pictures until I got a good one and THEN we could eat the treats. They shaped right up.
Tate dressed himself like this and then came and found me, "I'm ready to go." I had to resist the urge to call him "my Homey" all day. Tate holding Jack, who looks a little concerned with this arrangement. Jared and the big boys. Tater was SOOO dizzy when he got off of this ride...
Ugh...poor Tate. Jared was totally comfortable on this ride... Tate was funny too... He he...
I LOVE these kind of swings, they were always my favorite as a kid. Funny boys... Tate striking a pose in front of the batmobile. He was VERY disappointed that he couldn't get in it.
I love that boy's ears. The whole bunch, minus Jack.
The kids were THRILLED to meet Batman and Robin on our way out. Juice. Not a fan. What a ham. This kid cracks me up!
Feeding the ducks with some friends... Tate in motion... Hehe.
Me and Tate...he's so cute. Tate's needed a new shirt too... The kids were doing little interviews with these little microphones, it was kind of funny. Nerd. Cute nerd. But nerd nonetheless.
One big happy family at Jack's blessing. Yep. That's us. They had a neat museum there. Tate, of course, was attracted the the electronics with buttons.
No Tate! Don't jump in! Uncle Caleb showing them how it's done. That's my boy. An archaeologist in the making perhaps...
Ugh. Sand. The monsters with cousins Drew and Anne. Spuddy. That looks about right.
Yep. Jared told him to be scary...so that's what he's doing here. I thought he looked like he was stuck and was starting to cry.
What a view! Pit stop while hiking. Tess looks a bit worried about this whole thing...
Oh goodie. Sand. I love sand. Monsters on a dragon. Go monkey! Go!
This cool slide wasn't there when Dad and I attended elementary school there. Tater!
Victory! None of the monsters wanted to touch the starfish. She was really excited about the fish.
Monsters. Sitting really quietly hoping for a butterfly to land on us. So we can jump up and run away screaming. Climbing web. Monsters.
Butterfly monsters. Awww...cute again. Noah is glad that the next time we drive to Utah he won't have to climb in the back so I can feed the baby.
Bubble head. Crazy, patriotic monsters...and Jack. Awww... Pillow fight!
I totally had to take Ibuprofen and put the hot pad on my back after this...I am so old. Monsters, I mean Beavers, flashing more gang signs before going to Twilight Camp.
The monsters in the Medivac Helicopter at Tball closing ceremonies. Noah's Tball team, and other two monsters, on the Medivac helicopter. I'm not sure why we're flashing gang signs in our pictures nowadays... Grandpa and the older monsters glued to the lappy...
Watching Noah play his new Didj game. Watching the game is the next best thing to actually getting a turn. No blinking necessary. I admit that I may have gotten a little drawn in myself.
Is he going to get his wish? Super Tater. What a stud! This kid cracks me up!
Tate showing Tess how it's done. Silly boys. Tate is so funny... The kids love to pile shoes on the volcano and wait for it to explode.
Tate being a cowboy with Noah's hat from Texas week at school. Noah was too busy keeping his eyes on the ball to notice Tate's head. Tate holding his baby brother.
Poor baby passed out while watching a movie. Tate came out of his room wearing this bucket on his head and toting his Buzz Lightyear, it was pretty cute. She was very excited about the pink tulips that Daddy brought her. Tate was excited to be going home. Tate passed out in the kitty's chair. Pants on backwards and all...
Jared let the kids run through the sprinklers next door, cause he's more fun than me. Wet and covered in grass clippings. Nice. Monsters three. Some pretty dang handsome boys.
Trying to earn our official "Texan" cards. Cute kids. The kids were actually pretty excited by all the flowers everywhere. Not yet tired of smiling.
Tate was all about running through fields of bluebonnets. Come back and sit down! Or fall down, whatever. Our goofy little buddy.
He wanted to smell a flower. Tate liked the "boo-bonnets." Tate's patented little shoulder shrug grin. Sleepy kids.
Dang flash waking kids up. Digging for treasure on the beach. Noah and Tate are ready to go camping. Tate is exploring the camping area.
Too excited to smile for the camera. Tate tried to help me nail in some tent stakes. Fitting. Tate and his new shirt from the Easter Bunny. It's so Tate.
Egg hunting... Watching conference. We printed out Conference coloring pages and Conference bingo pages for them... This was about as long as the whole "sit and listen and be quiet" thing lasted. Then it changed to "go and get out and you can't be out here if you can't be quiet."
Tate coloring Conference pictures on the computer with Daddy... He doesn't drive the mouse with his right hand...he drives with his left and awkwardly clicks with his right. He draws/colors with his left hand...how we got a lefty we're not sure... The kids colored the newspaper after we were done coloring the eggs. Tate was very excited by the blue eggs.
Tate concentrating sooo hard on his bunny. So stinkin' cute! Two not so black sheep at Loner School. When Nate and Ashley came to visit they brought birthday presents for all the kids. They gave Tate a neat toolset. Tate's been spending a lot of time "fixing" the carpet.
They gave Noah a sweet Lego kit with a submarine and shark-guy. Tate loves his Darth Vader tattoo. He told me that he wants this tattoo to last forever and never come off. Tate's making his mean-guy face and flexing his huge muscles.
Here he is giving that enormous bicep a big kiss. You don't mess with those guns. Tate and I passed out while watching a movie the other afternoon. Tate hides under his bed with Noah's Didj and plays video games. Two blind googly-eyed mice.
Spiders at Loner School. The cutest little hand prints ever. He giggled the whole time I was inking him up. Chomp chomp chomp...Valentine's Day breakfast. Kidding. Tate got put in the corner for not cleaning...and he fell asleep.
Still sleeping on the floor. Spuddy in the snow. All the kids pelting Dad with snowballs. He's been hit!
Tess just heaved that gigantic snow blob at Jared. Poor freezing baby was shivering so hard that Daddy brought him in, but he didn't want to stay inside.
The very large snow monster. The snow throne. Tess ran around in Tess' new wings, holding on to her new wand and trying to turn the cat into a frog. It was HILARIOUS!!! Egg races at Loner School, since egg starts with E.
Tate immediately took off running and, of course, lost his egg. Tess was the winner. Funny dork and furry dork all in one shot. Making apple sun-catchers. Tate lost interest in this REALLY quickly. Making twinkly (glowing) star necklaces to go with our nursery rhyme.
Dirt cups...Mmmm. He wanted nothing to do with the gummy worms though. Weirdo. Dinner at the Pinewood Derby. Tate and his card from Grandma Ida. They just LOVE getting mail! Making a treat for preschool, since treat starts with T.
We let Tate open his present from us (Mom & Dad) in the morning before Daddy went to work. "Toy Story Guy!" His wings pop out when you push the big red button on the front, just like the movie...they're a little tricky to get back in though. Tate got impatient and started tearing into presents before I was totally ready.
Tate and Jordan. Batman! New shirts from the other monsters. Tate and the Carters.
Funny face. Another weird face. Tate destroyed the envelopes to get to the cards. Tate loves his new "Eh-mo" blankie and noisy trucks ;).
"MONEY!" Funny dang boy! Awww... He got them all! The monsters on the first day of preschool.
Handwriting. Playing Tic Tac Toe with toads. Being a turtle hiding from the camera. Funny boy.
Lunchtime! Jack and Jill puppets. Tate and his puppets. Jack looks sort of like he's got a case of thrush. The kids met Daffy Duck at Six Flags.
Tate was very excited to be touching Bugs' face. Apparently this was Noah's favorite ride. Haha. Dad and the kids on a magic carpet style bus. Glad I didn't have to ride any of these...
This ride had the slowest. moving. line. ever. I love these swing type things. Tate and Daddy on the bouncing boots, which had no music so the teenage operator felt it necessary to fill in with his own obnoxious mix. Hey cutest baby ever!
Tate ringing in the New Year. Watching movies on New Year's Eve. Tate opening his present from the Crookstons. These pictures are all very blurry because the kids would not hold still, they were SO excited!
Devouring the rice krispie house. Yay! More sugar! Okay we get it...move on. Cute little booger on a scooter.
Funny kids... I don't know, do you think they are excited to see their presents? Tate is most excited about the candy. Aunt Ashley made these great crowns. The kids love them, been wearing them all day.
Tate is making sure his crown is still on. The kids also love the presents Caleb and Ashli picked for them. Trying to open the bag from the Sowerby's. Tate had no problem figuring out how to crash right into the wall.
All together now. Grandma's scooter gang. Tate opening his gifts on Christmas Eve. Tate was pretty excited about his new pajamas.
Decorating cookies for Santa. This was before they started getting more interested in eating decorations than decorating with them. Tate wasn't a fan of the cinnamon red hots and spit the ones he tasted back into the bowl. Can you fit any more gummy bears on that cookie, Tess?
Reading The Night Before Christmas and then the nativity story from the Children's Illustrated New Testament. Tate was pretty interested in blocking everyone else's view of the book. The kids all ready for bed in their new jammies. My favorite part about Christmas is how eager they are to go to bed.
Merry Christmas! Funny kids. Yeah. This is exactly what I meant when I said "look here and smile." Way to go guys. Much, MUCH better.
The boys. Tate is so GQ. I love it! Tate couldn't resist joining in. Tate had some fun looking at the mirror.
Tate working on his own "Give a Mouse a Something" book. Tate and his letter to Santa. He asked for a Batman Toy. All the monsters and Santa. Tate holding his trains and not looking at the camera.
I guess that's as good as it's going to get. Tate and his blond head playing with trains at home. So much excitement! So much "help."
My baby Tater and his new ornament. He hehe. I was so excited we could stop here on the way home. Oh look, sharing. Funny boys...
Awwww...aren't they cute when they're sleeping? Then of course all the kids had to get in on the photo taking... This is much more like the kind of pictures we usually get.
Noah was sure he wanted to pull them around...but it was pretty crowded. Cold kids with really bad red eye... Monsters trying not to fall into the pool.
Fingers in mouths and not looking at the camera...guess that one's not Christmas Card material. Here we all are freezing our butts off. Tate loved the lights we drove through in Layton. So did I, they were much warmer than the lights we saw in Salt Lake. Tate's turn!
Lots of people and lots of noise. Throwing snowballs at Daddy. Great fun! Holy crap! They're all looking at the camera! AND smiling! It's a miracle! Good thing they didn't really throw those at me...it would have gotten ugly.
Little monsters aren't allowed in our bed but they are welcome to the floor. Jared found two of the three next to his side of the bed one morning. Awwww... Sliding down into a pile of leaves. Piling them up for another go. Woo Hoo!
Here's hoping for a better picture when they get home... Here's us failing to get a better picture after they got home... Good grief... Alright guys, I said a better picture...
The business chicken. We really only put the tie on him because when Noah wore this costume when he was this age people thought he was a girl and it really bothered Jared. Waiting patiently for her turn with the only one of our punkins that didn't rot before Halloween. Good grief that child is blonde. Tate carried his (and several we didn't buy) all by himself.
Priceless. I know this little monkey can't read the signs... Tate lookin' lost in the hay maze. That's my baby.
What on earth is he doing with his lip? Come on! A nice picture... All I want is a nice picture. Yeah, he's not tired and he didn't need a nap.
Burning marshmallows at our mock campout. Ouchie. Tater being a pirate. Tate post haircut by Tess.
Poor mangy baby... Tate would rather sit it the basket and read a book than have dinner. He he he... Tate hates these jammies. But I love them...
Of course Tate had to try it out too... Awwww...I love this picture. Here's Tate demonstrating the incorrect method of cream puff eating. Step one: poke finger into cream puff. Step two: scoop out bakery cream filling. Discard shell... Gross baby. Real gross.
Tate pulled the last few stickers off of Tess' tea set and then came to show us his "arm spits." Once again Tate is sure he's ready to go to school. With a backpack...and a very small lunchbox. Tate is so GQ. Tate wanted Princess Cake, just like Tess.
Goofy baby. Tate insisted on wearing that backpack to Meet the Teacher Night. He's pretty sure he's starting first grade on Monday... Wouldn't it be nice if that boy would just smile like a normal person for a picture?
Cute guy and tired, grumpy baby. Tate was hilarious in the little batting cage. Seriously, everyone who was watching got a kick out of watching him hit the ball. So much for a career in the major leagues... Deceptively cute.
A breakfast of chocolate muffins was popular with the kids. Tate wasn't a huge fan of the slides, but he did like the water otherwise. Tate loved getting me wet. Tate had a great time keeping Mom running after him.
Tate was standing over these little geysers and laughing like crazy. Noah was feeling angry about something that afternoon. We had a KidCabin room for the kids. They thought it was great fun, and enjoyed the TV in their room. 3 kids waiting for it to be time to go get dinner.
Tate loved his bed. Red Robin didn't have the Pot Roast burger, but other than that it was good stuff. I love their onion rings. The kids had a great time at Great Wolf. Tate liked to look through the windows into the waterpark while we were waiting for the clock tower show.
The kids were pretty fixed on the show. The Clock Tower show was entertaining for the kids. Once Tate wandered up to get a better look, he inspired a few friends to do the same. Tate loved the moose. He waved to it every time it started singing.
Tate got a little rug burn on his forehead while running. Note from Mom: This is what Tate does when I tell him I'm going to eat his baby cheeks. Our cute kids. Noah picked out his clothes all by himself. He's a stylish kid. What a little cutie. Poor kid with a hurt lip. Someone pressed the button to spring a lightsaber while it was pointed at his face.
Tate was refusing to say that he was sorry after calling me a Stupidhead. The kids were using these goals as some kind of tent. Happy kids in front of a bright window. Me eat chocolate pancake!
Chocolate chip pancakes, with extra chocolate chips. Tate was bouncing off the walls with excitement. Noah's telling Elmo that Tate's his "biggest fan." Of course, now that we are all here with Elmo, let's all look at the video behind us and everywhere else but the camera.
All the kids got in a circle before dancing the hokey pokey. I'm not sure if Tate had any idea what was going on here. The kids had a lot of fun dancing with Elmo. Tate wasn't shy at all in going up to dance right with Elmo.
Tate found this Elmo decoration and carried it around for probably 15 minutes. Me and Tate "cueing" on the edge of the pool (I stand there and look unattractive and he counts to three and jumps in). Tate "swimming" between me and a skinny lifeguard. Me and Tate at Aquatots...
Chillin' on the swing with a watermelon milkshake (while sitting next to the grill cover). Here's my cute family at the parade. He he. Look at how cute this boy is!
Patriotic monsters. Tess and Tate being grill models... This is the second time in our marriage that Jared has assembled a BBQ grill in the living room...though this time it was mostly put together when we got it home.
A baby and his kitty. I took the monsters to the local splash park last night, while waiting for it to be time to go pick up Jared after his 12 hour day. This thing turned off right before I took this picture...doh! Tate didn't want to get wet at first. He stood really close to me and whined, "Nooooo..."
How cute is this boy? Crookston, Carter and Buckley kids...from left: Tess, Tate, Andi, Jordan, Peyton, Soni, and Noah. Dylan is the only one missing. My little Jedi warriors in line at the party. Padawan Tate.
Wet baby. Cutest dang baby ever! What a stud!
Tate wants the camera. Fuzzy Tate by the firetruck waiting for the egg drop to start. Un-blurry Tate by the firetruck. Luckily the busted egg didn't get on the donettes we put it in (Jared's idea), I double freezer bagged it. They were mostly dust...but the kids still ate them. Eww.
Tate having a little lunchable picnic while Tess and Noah were at Twilight Camp with Jared. This was right before we told Tate he wasn't going... Tate peeled his gift very, very carefully... Tess couldn't stand the suspense and decided to intervene...
Tate loves these knex. He has the Elmo ones already and he's been building hybrid "Oscarmo's" all week. If you have kids and have never read the Elephant and Piggie series of books, you must find them. They are the cutest and funniest kids books around. Fast car! A couple of goofballs.
There's only one handle on this seat, but that didn't stop Tate from having a blast. The kids had a blast playing at the playground at Firewheel. He he he. What a cutie. He he he. Gosh I love this baby.
Rockstar! We picked up a kiddie pool for the monsters to play in on Memorial Day. Speedy Tate. I love his little outie belly button... Jared is a much better sport than I am. You wouldn't catch me getting into a kiddie pool in the front yard, let alone refraining from soaking the obnoxious photographer who felt the need to capture the moment for posterity. Apparently the water was REALLY cold.
Dad was a lot of help when it came to getting even with Noah. What a stud! Look! It's Royse City rock sensation The Three Little Pigs! Tate, the lead singer, mostly throws the mic and screams at the guitarist. It's hardcore! "I make a happy face!" Who's face did you make happy? "Mommy's face!!!"
What a stud! Too bad it didn't stay spiked up all day... Whose too stinkin' cute baby is that? That's right. He's mine. Blockheads. You spend thousands of dollars on toys for your children and what do they really want? A box.
I would have chosen to nap on the bed if it had been me but whatever... See those three little scratches near his eye? That's what happens when you try to toss a 9 week old kitten like a softball. Little dork... Tate has overcome his aversion to the cat and now spends his days terrorizing her in one way or another. She's going to have a complex... Superhero Mommy! Superhero!
Look! It's dishtowel boy! "I wanna hold it! Hold kitty!" Looks like he's preparing to steal a base... Tate loves the cat.
The monsters on Easter morning. Hunting for plastic eggs full of jelly beans because we just didn't have time to dye them before Sunday afternoon. Tater got it!
Easter morning massacre. Way to cooperate Tate. Tate was mad because he wanted to see the picture of himself on the camera...but Jared hadn't taken it yet. Cute little bunch of snots.
Couple of studs. Ooohh. Cookies! Look at the poor frozen baby! Let's hurry so we can get out of here. I'm freezing!
Dirty faced Tate in his new camp chair that we picked up for the Father Son camp out. Apparently the best way to entertain Tate while you're trying to set up and take down the tent is to let him play in the car. Tate had a ball playing with the door locks and headlights. Jared said the battery was just about dead when he tried to start it up to go home the next morning. Mmmm smores and glo sticks. Sleeping bag baby.
Tate wasn't quite sure what to think about these little scooters. Tate pointing to Ashli in the Crookston family picture that hangs in the entryway. Oh look! PlayDough! I love PlayDough! Alright kids, thank Grandma for the PlayDough.
Our little fish-face had to be in the pictures too... This is a somewhat lousy shot of Tate wearing Jared's yard gloves on his feet. On the carpet. Great. Tate at the dentist. Before the screaming started. This was also right before the screaming started. We just got a real kick out of the body language being displayed here...
Tess and Tate shopping at Kroger, of course by shopping I mean crushing the toilet paper and drumming on the lemonade... Tate displaying the incorrect method of wearing a batting helmet. We'll call this shot Dork Running Away With Hat. This is one of the reasons why on the form at the dentist when it asked me what word best describes my child's personality I went with goofy. (On a side note why does the dentist want to know that? As a point of reference for when the screaming starts? Just so you can know for sure it's your fault, that they aren't always like this?)
Tate crashed on the floor in front of a movie after we got home from Sam's house on Monday. Not bad. Not bad at all. Oh yeah. This is good. Our little pop princess.
Yeah. These photos are so going in your wedding video. Noah and Tate's new setup. Tate is his racecar wearing his helmet. Help me. My parents are so bored.
Once we got home from church, Tate wandered off with a bag of Honey Buzzers for a little snack. Tate is so helpful. Dueling vacuums. Aaaaaahhh! Don't touch me with that thing!
Tate has mail! He's been scooting himself around on this dump truck almost all day long... Dig in Tater! Oh great. He's reached the age of "too cool to smile at the camera."
Ha ha...Tater. Concentrating so hard... Tate loves this book! Tate really got into unwrapping the presents this year.
Cheese! More presents! Look! A box to mail you to Grandma in!
Our friend Mike called this toy "Needy Neurotic Elmo." He begs you to pick him up when you push on his tummy, I think it's cute and so does Tate. That's right! A smurf! And he talks..."Mmmmm Smurfberries! I'm feeling very Smurfy today!"
What a cute baby... Tate and the noisy school bus, which is like the Magic School bus minus the eccentric teacher. Tate was too busy to look at the card again so I could get a decent picture. Sorry Grandma. Tate fixin' to grab Elmo by the jaw.
This kid is such a stud! Cheese! Tater Baby. Stuffing Tate's elephant.
Tate didn't want the girl to help him put the heart in his elephant. Tate and Tess brushing their new animals off after stuffing and stitching them up. Tate and his new elephant "Funny." He's wearing Dallas Mavericks warm-ups (we would have picked Jazz ones if they had been available, keep your shirt on). So cute!
Cute baby! Awwwww... And here is one more reason that the kids like him more... I think I should hide under the cupboard and get into the toys from the quiet bag...
Little stinker... Come on Tate! You can do it! Come on Tate! Climb up there and lay down for a picture. Pretty please? I'll betcha Caleb and Ashli had no idea that they were packing their Christmas gifts to us in such amusing packing materials...
We opted out of church the Sunday before Christmas, due to the alarmingly large percentage of us who were barfing, so here are the kids all dolled up the Sunday after Christmas. They sure do clean up nice, don't they? What a handsome little spud! Tate and Tess waited patiently by the baby gate while Noah ran to fetch my slippers. Here's Tate in the big freaking tent that Santa brought. Unfortunately the old fart brought one that was waaaay too big so we'll have to exchange it at our local workshop (aka WalMart).
Car! Look Mom! Car! Car! Look! Car! Let the mess making begin! Look, you can still see the carpet in this shot. Sniff...sniff. Hey Mom! What's the deal? How come there isn't any tissue paper in this box with these clothes...
Sorry Tate. I was totally out. I hated to wrap it up anyways, but I was totally out and dying to get some stuff under the tree.
Tate really got into unwrapping the presents this year. Tate heading over to steal candy while the kids are otherwise distracted. The kids all helped to open this big present. Tate and Tess are pretending to be treasures... ;)
Here's Tate, all smiles, in front of the retarded car thing that Jared and I got him that doesn't work at all. Merry Christmas Baby! The boys were both pleased with their new jammies. Tate inspecting the print on Jared's new jammies. EWWWW!
What a cutie! That looks about right. Tate brought me these suspenders and then backed up to me and made me put them on his jammies. Tess and Tate are being adorable before church while Noah, once again, is displaying his "too cool for you" face.
Tate knows this is a scam... Here are all the kids sitting on Santa's lap at the eClub party. Daddy stood in the long line with them while Mommy ran home to get the tickets she forgot in her rush out the door...grrrrr. Tate was thrilled with his toy. Tate and Noah ended up with the same toy since we already had one of the toys they were giving the one year old boys (and it came up when Jared was helping them get set up).
Here's Noah's "I'm too cool to smile at you" face. They're so busy gnawing on stale candy they can't even smile at the camera. Ha ha ha...demolition day. Sugar coma coming on...
Here we are at Kindergarten Gingerbread Palooza 2008! It was great, and mercifully short. The kids were cute and had a good time helping. Tate really just wanted to eat the crackers. Once we got to the point where he could have a few he was perfectly happy. Here are the kids all packed up and ready to go on an adventure.
It's too bad that the sun was shining right on this cool red door, it would have made some neat pictures if we hadn't all been squinting. Our family picture from the Crookstons shoot. The winning shot from the Crookston photo shoot, I think... Tate stomping down the leaves in Grandma's backyard.
Playing in the leaves with Aunt Bree. Bunch of monkeys... Tate's pants have issues staying on. Tate in the leaves!
I think that this may have been the winner for the Sowerby family picture... I kinda like this one where we are all picking on Brian. Ha ha. Grandma Ida and Tate reading a few stories. Tate in the Jazz mobile at Chuck E. Cheese.
Tate in a Jeep with a gold digger. Act cool man... Tater and his loot from C.E.C. Here are the monsters on the A at USU...
Thanks to Caleb and Ashli for helping us get some decent pictures while we were there. Tate loved this cat at Nate and Ashley's house. We went to Blue Bird with Caleb & Ashli and Nate & Ashley and their kids while we were in Logan. This kid is just the cutest little boy ever...
The monsters all ready for church... We've started digging out winter clothes for Tate in anticipation of our upcoming trip to Utah. I just love this bomber jacket! Tate decided that the breadmaker needed investigation. "Now's my chance to get into the high cabinets!"
After Tate had been watching the breadmaker, Noah wanted to see what all the commotion was about. Tate's enjoying some cookies while the rest of us carve pumpkins. The cookies ran out before we were done carving pumpkins, so Tate got some yogurt. Tate got enough yogurt on him before he was done to warrant a bath.
We've got the cutest kids EVER. The end of a fun evening of trick or treating. Dragon Tate attacks the camera. Tate and Soni at the library party.
Tate's laying on his tummy eating treats at the library party. Tate picked his pumpkin out first thing when we arrived. The kids had a good time at the Pumpkin Patch. Tess isn't sitting on a swing, Tess and Tate just have balloons tied to their beltloops.
Noah was a bit jealous that Tate had wagon pulling permissions. He actually pulled the wagon into several people. This kid's pretty strong. Tate was a bit hesitant about going into the maze, though he had no problem running circles around it. I eventually drew him in with a rousing game of peek-a-boo. What a happy kid.
Tate became very obsessed with pushing and pulling the wagon of pumpkins around. Run Tate! Run! Tate really like these "shoe cars." Okay. That's a weird face. Like some kind of slipper wearing...enforcer of...um, something tough. And manly.
Tate is a cheese puff fiend. Tate has started throwing a fit when we try to put him in the high chair so occasionally he gets to eat sitting in the booster seat...look how big he is. *sniff, sniff Look! That cute, albeit a little tangly, little girl is feeding that dirty little orphan. How sweet... Tate is thrilled about the Halloween costume we picked up for him last night.
Yeah. He loves it. He he he. Let's attempt to get a non binkie picture... You're cute even if you're grumpy buddy.
The ward had better do something for Halloween this year or some one is going to hear about it. This is like a pacifier only better! That's right. Rub that ring pop slime into your hair. Hey! Don't forget your ears... Tate stole Tess' sunglasses and I was lucky enough to find the camera in the car.
All of the kids got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest in the wall... Ewwww...Messy Tate...hmmmm, I wonder if I should think about washing that strap? Here's Tate after he stole Noah's hat. How hyper kids have fun.
Cheese! Noah finally got over it and held a few sparklers this year. Usually he's too big of a chicken until they are all gone, then he's all weepy and mad that he missed his chance. Tate loves mugging for the camera. Tate loved crawling through this box. When Aubrey ran to grab the camera to capture the moment, Tate stopped playing and sat down and said "cheese" instead.
The kids thought this box was the funnest toy ever. They crawled through it over and over, and Tate just couldn't stop laughing. What a goofy little face! I'm surprised there was room for two kids to go through at once. I don't know why we spend money on toys.
Me trying to entertain Tate with a book and not fall asleep at Joy School graduation. Messy little stud...he's dressed backwards too. He is so cute! Tate is soooo cute!
Hey handsome... Noah and the side of Tate's fat head. What a cute mess. Funny Tate.
Tate running away from the water as fast as he can. Big chicken. Hey stud...come here often? Cutie Pie. Rockstar!
Yeah...he's not my favorite. Tate was standing in front of me saying "Cheese!" Cute little wet baby. Tate has some trouble just stepping up that little step, he feels the need to crawl.
Hey look! Dad isn't very wet. Let's help him with that. It took Tate a while to get up enough courage to come this close on his own. He he he. Look at his ribs! This was right before he got in far enough that water started to squirt up his nose and he totally freaked out.
What a stud! Ewwwwww. What a stud! Cheese.
Messy Tate. We finally got to turn Spuddy around in the car! I just love the dazed and confused faces they make during their first front facing ride... Every Sunday night we all sit at the computer and talk to Grandma Crookston using Skype and the webcams. The kids are always excited to tell her about their week.
Aubrey, Tess, and Tate at Noah's soccer game. Grandma and Tate at Noah's first soccer game. Tater Tot. Our cute baby Tate. He's so huge now.
Tate was a little confused to be opening presents. He seemed to have forgotten how to do it, or why he would want to bother. Tate hesitantly tore open the wrapping paper. Tate is digging into his birthday present from Uncle Nate and Aunt Ashley. Baby Tate found one!
Woo Hoo! Candy! Mmmmm...a tasty plastic chicken. That's like looking at me... Ahhhh. How sweet.
The Crookston-Carter kids all lined up at church. We didn't make them all match on purpose, it just happened that way when Sam and I went to the store. Tate and the Easter Bunny. He actually liked him, there was no screaming! He just sat there and patted his hands. Here's Jared gettin' all artsy with the camera. Fuzzy Tate.
Tate was totally bored watching us color the eggs. Sorry buddy, maybe next year...maybe. Tate loves Daddy's dominoes. Tate also likes the podcasts. Tate was really getting in to it.
Here we start our attempt at getting decent picture of the monsters in their St. Patrick's Day shirts. Love the tongue Tess. In this shot Noah is explaining to me what I am doing wrong. He's been full of all kinds of "helpful" advice lately. Oh brother. Here's where we gave up on getting a decent picture. Since you can't see them Tess' shirt says "Dad's Lady Luck;" Noah's shirt says "St. Pat's Junior Motorcycle Club Live Young, Ride Fast..." and Tate's shirt says "Little Hooligans Club" and has the number 17 on it. Bunch of twerps. What a big green mess!
Slimy and green...my favorite. Ewwwwww. Tate climbed up next to me and put this pan on his head. He was being really cute until we got out the camera then he started fidgeting really bad. What a cutie!
Funny baby. Now Daddy gets to wear the pan-hat. 1 kid ready for church. 2 more to go... Tate having a chat with Grandpa.
My adorable baby... Tate crawled over and said, "Cheese!" Which made every one in this picture laugh. Tate getting in to something. Tate liked to eat the puzzle.
Tate in his spiffy new Space Saver Highchair. Here the kids are playing "drums." Cute little monkeys. This is where Jared says, "What do you mean Tate doesn't get to have the purple juice?"
Poor ruined birthday shirt... Tate likes Daddy's dominoes. Tate got these cute little Play Town figurines. They are sort of like the really old little people, when the bodies were made of wood. Tate loves peanut butter and jelly almost as much as his big sister.
What a handsome little man! Such a stud! Tate has eight teeth now; when you do this to his lips to see his teeth, he laughs. Tate has started putting things on his head, whether or not it's a hat. He was being really cute and playing peek a boo with this hat until we got the camera out.
Tate has been suffering from a mild case of VBS (Velcro Baby Syndrome) lately. He freaks out whenever he hears me think about putting him down. She loves to push Tate around in this wagon. and Tate loves to ride in the wagon! Oh goodie! Tate wants to play too!
Tate covering his mouth in protest! Tate likes cake as long as it is being fed to him. I ate it. But I didn't like it. Tate...look over here!
No, not there. Here! Look here! Tate! Put the cup down and look at the camera! The kids got these jammies for Christmas and I've been meaning to take a picture like this since then... so here it is. At least the boys are being cute. 2 out of 3 isn't bad...
Woo Hoo! A present for Tate! Tate really likes to climb on top of the presents. He was just happy to get a hold of some paper. This is a cool toy!
So true. It's the birthday boy! It's my 1st birthday! Aubrey made this "onederful" shirt for Tate. I think it turned out great. The key is to go back to the sewing department and get the June Tailor Print 'n Press. Avoid that terrible Avery brand iron-on transfer in the paper department. That Avery stuff will ruin your shirts. And your transfers. "Something to climb over!"
Tate just wanted to sit on top of this toy. King of the Farmhouse! This is a pretty sweet box. You don't need to open it. Tate would shake paper if Aubrey handed it to him, but after a few presents were opened, he just wanted to play with them rather than play with paper.
It's a toy where you hit the ball into a little path that goes back and forth. Pretty dang cool. Tate is investigating his new "mirror pound a ball" toy. He's thinking to himself, "I wonder who I can pound with this hammer first." Noah and Tess are thinking the same thing. Tate's about to dig into this new present. Ooh a book! And some new Mickey Mouse pajamas.
I can tell you are faking, buddy. Such a cutie. Now start tearing paper, bud. The little birthday man. Tate is opening his present from Caleb and Ashli.
"This looks pretty fun. For me to climb on." Hot diggity! Let me climb on this sucker so I can go to bed happy. Tate loves books with buttons. The kids are all "sharing" this book.
Erika and Tate and all of the other kids had fun playing with the new toys. We started unboxing and opening presents. Tate's new airplane. When you push on that lady the lights turn on and it starts singing. Tate and Erika and Peyton are having a good time together.
Tate had a lot of fun going from toy to toy. Let's share the hammer! I'll share it with you first! Thump! Tate's getting ready to "blow out the candle" on his cake. That means paw at the icing while Dad blows on the candle. Tate wanted to go to bed. Cake was the last thing he wanted to see right then.
Have some cake! Tate isn't too happy about cake and ice cream. 15 minutes later, nothing has been touched. Tate in his new pajamas from Grandma and Grandpa Crookston.
Bath time for messy kids. Look at him go! Look at my "baby." Hi Tate!
"I am number one!" My boys. Tate loves to climb up on Noah's bed. What a stud!
What a funny boy! Ahhhh, another Crookston kid photo shoot. We have a winner!!! Tate got this cute little pirate ship.
These cute cars are for Tate, he was sleeping so I got to open his presents for him. Here they (we) come on Christmas morning. Cute little towhead. Mom is this really for me?
Cutest jammies ever! Poor tired, uninterested baby. Ants in the pants? I don't get it... I'm not interested in Christmas, tra la la la la la la la la.
Tate couldn't care less about these cute new pants. More footie jammies! Opening presents from Grandma Amy. Thanks Grandma Amy!
Tate wasn't as excited about his new shoes as I would have liked. Tate seized the opportunity to get into the other kids' stuff while they were opening their presents. Noah and Tess got Tate this nifty cement truck. This is cool!
Tate liked to spin the little wheely thing on the top there, even before we got it all unwrapped. As soon as he saw it he started spinning it. Tate's first Christmas haul. Poor Baby Tate was taking a much needed nap at this point. Somebody please put me down for a nap! Weeee!
Hey, what's this? Tate likes this bouncy zebra. Swinging is so boring...guess I'll take a little nap. Hey whiny!
Ohhh cool! Thanks! Tate was happy once he had some paper in each hand. The other kids knew what to do... Oh look! I got this great box! Look here Baby Tate!
Look at them sitting nicely for a picture! That's better! Baby Tate is doing some last minute price comparison as he hurriedly throws a Christmas list together. Ummmmm...a close up of Tate's shirt...I dunno...Move along, move along
When Tate gets mad he balls up his little fists and shakes his arms, and tenses up the muscles in his neck. It is really cuter than it looks in this picture. Here are the kids with Santa. This was of course before Tess pulled on his beard...way to go Tess, fat chance the sleigh stops here this year. Tate loved this cowboy duck even more than the block thingie he got. All ready to go home. New toys in hand.
The kids got some cute new outfits from Grandma Sowerby. Aubrey puts this hat on Tate and calls him her Beanie Baby. Look a table! and a spoon! Baby Tate is sitting up to the table now...sniff, sniff.
Tate supervised the construction. Yeah, Tate was really helpful too. Lookie! A slobbery Christmas shirt! Ooooooh. What is this?
Mmmm. Cake. What mess? Noah and Tate are helping us tangle up the garland for the Christmas tree. It took Jared and I about half an hour to get it all untangled when they were done. Santa Baby...
Ha ha! Hand is free! Now I can grab the hat! Mission Accomplished! Poor Tate was less than happy about his first haircut... Help! I'm outnumbered...
Bye bye baby hair. Poor sad baby... What a stud. Hey! I survived!
Okay, okay...we'll cut his hair. Tate and Peyton are buddies. This is the face that Tate makes when he "gives you fives." On a side note, look at that cute little tooth! Look at my poor sad baby...STANDING UP in the crib!!!
Boogery smear on the forehead, fruity cheerio on the nose, M&M mess all over every thing else...what a stud. Tate has gotten to be pretty good and cruising around the furniture. Jared and the kids all ready for Trick or Treating. T-I-Double-G-RRRRRR
The most unanimated Tigger I have ever seen. Tate was supervising the pumpkin mess. Look he stopped whining for a minute. Hi Tate.
Here's my kids sitting nicely and smiling for a cute picture. Hi Tate! Here's Tate in the hay maze. Oh Look! A tasty piece of hay...
Hi baby Tate! Not really interested in getting his picture taken with a pumpkin. Tate wasn't so sure about the noisy tree. Here's Tate during the whole house decorating incident.
Tate was less than enchanted with the ponies. Tate and his crackers sure make a huge mess. Yum yummy. After he took a good long nap Tate supervised from the doorway.
Help! I'm kneeling and I can't get down! What a couple of studs! Grandpa and his grandsons. What a cute picture...
Baby facial! Tate wasn't a huge fan of the oatmeal I tried to feed him. What a cutie! Tate loves to wiggle through the space between the table and the couch.
Passed out baby. Cute sleeping baby... What a sweetie! The toys are always greener when they're closer to mom and dad.
Caleb and Ashli picked up this shirt for Tate while they were on their honeymoon. I'll bet you can't guess where they went... Yay! Finger food! Look! It's a fishbowl! Okay...ha ha. It's Tate sitting up. What a little stud-muffin!
Looks like Tate likes his new car seat. By the looks of it I'd say that Tess likes her car seat too. Baby Tate riding the laundry basket. He is such a cute boy. Tate got a new carseat since Noah destroyed the old one.
It's quite a sizable throne. What a cute little boy. Tate loved the red part on the buckle. Tate hasn't quite mastered the pincher grip yet so these snacks were more frustrating than satisfying.
Poor Baby Tate just collapsed from hunger. Tate was very tired. He normally doesn't like to fall asleep in my arms. Aunt Bree was kind enough to send Tate this tasty letter. What a studly boy!
Baby Tate post peaches. Feeling a little smiley. Poor sick baby...he's sooo tired. See. Sooo tired.
What a stud! This a happy baby after his bath. It makes me sad that that grin will have teeth someday soon. Tate loves his cereal, though some days he is cleaner than other days. Cute messy baby.
Tate absolutely loved it when I would wave this little bar around from Tess's doll playpen. I would bounce it up and down as he tried to grab the flowers. "Wow this tastes weird. Hey, wait a minute...why is Dad holding me?" Here's all six of the Crookston-Carter kids. As if you didn't already know: Noah, Andi, Tess, Dylan and then Peyton is looking at Tate in the swing, and that's Sam sitting behind the kids. Tate enjoyed the fireworks from the comfort of his swing.
Tate trying to eat a beach ball... Devising a new plan of attack. Tate really likes the Jumperoo. Jumperoo Tate!
What a cutie! Okay, I've had enough of this nonsense. Baby's first cereal...sob, sob. He snarfed it right down.
It was a little tricky since he kept trying to grab the spoon. Tate was so cute after he fell asleep. He should do more of that. Tate has a new trick where he pulls his sock off. Just the one on his right foot. Tate is really starting to like playing with toys.
We got a bunch of baby toys out of storage, and the kids have been way too excited to give them to him. Tate has found his feet. I was trying to get a cute picture of Tate playing with that glow stick. How cute is my baby?
This is what the pictures look like when you try to cover the flash with your finger. Here's the kids all ready to go and crash the reception. A cute lookin bunch if I do say so myself. Me and Tate sitting next to Bree, Ashley (of the Nathan variety) and Drew.
Tate seemed to enjoy playing with his cousin Drew's stacking cups. Tate fell asleep holding onto my thumb and he wouldn't let go. Daddy and Tate watching the Mavericks/Warriors game. We've really been trying to get Captain Drool to roll over.
2/3 of my cute boys. :) Lucky for him his head isn't as big as Noah's was or he'd really be struggling. Tate laughing at me singing "...Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember? We built this city, we built this city on rock an' roll." I don't care if VH1 voted it the most awesomely bad song ever, I still like it. This is the face Tate makes when he blows bubbles.
Starting to get a little tired of this photo shoot. Despite his look of total boredom he really did like the Jumperoo. Look at those cute chubby cheeks! Awwww.
Sam, Peyton, Bekah, Tate & I all went to the American Baby Faire in Dallas. Sam & I rubbed baby butter on the boys during the World's Largest Baby Butter Massage. Baby Tate taking a nap in his crib. Freshly washed babies are the cutest kind, even if they have sort of an odd expression on their face. How cute are my kids?
Another one of those candid favorites. Hold still. Smile. Don't drop the baby! Tate looked so handsome. Our little thumb-sucker.
Tate has started laughing when you clap his hands together. He has gotten really smiley lately. Tate wasn't really interested, and he slept through the whole thing. Tate smiles so big for his mommy.
He has such big smiles! Baby's first blue jeans. Check out that cute smile! I love baby smiles... Tate started fussing a little bit so Noah gave him this fish to make him happy. "Don't be sad. You're my little buddy."
Looks like we wore out Daddy and Tate while running our errands. Hanging out with Tate. "Oh, I have such a headache." This super cute outfit came from Grandma Glo and Ray. We love it!
We picked up this cute bathtub to make it easier to bathe Tate. The old one was looking kind of gross, and it was a pain to bathe the kid in the big tub. Noah called him a "Tate-Banana" which I guess isn't too hard to imagine in this picture. Tate's first bath. He didn't enjoy it as much as it looks like in this picture. This was a brief respite from a lot of crying. Our cute little blond-haired baby.
I tried to get a picture of his fuzzy hair, but it's hard to see here. Tate is shielding his eyes as he sleeps. Tate is almost smiling. You can tell by his eyes that he is enjoying himself, and smiles should be here in a just a few more days. Tess wanted to give Baby Tate a kiss. And a stuffy nose.
Supposedly Tate was doing those gassy "smiles" and Aubrey tried to catch him in the act. It's not as easy as you might think to take a picture of a gassy smile. I guess the flash bulb is disturbing his slumber. He really has gotten so close to smiling already.
What a cutie. Having a nap with Grandpa. He is such a handsome little guy. Tate and Grandma.
Yep...so cute. What a sweet baby boy. We are so glad that he isn't as yellow as his siblings were. Tate and Grandma.
Just hangin out. Tate and Grandpa. Such a cute little baby face. He's already gotten really close to smiling.
Dang fingers keep going right past his mouth. Hey look at my tongue! He really likes to have his hands close to his face. He's just so dang cute!
What a fascinating blanket! Tate actually sleeps while laying down. It took Tess months to figure that out. Tess is "holding" her brother, who is "so cutie," if you ask her. Tate is giving his Mickey Mouse ears a little tryout. It says on the cap that it is infant-sized, but I guess Tate is one very small infant.
Tate was very awake for a while. Time to get him dressed to go home. Everything is so big on him. All dressed and ready to go.
He's letting us know what he thinks of his first outfit. What a little baby. We moved the blanket so you could see how little he is in that giant infant-sized car seat. Tate Brigham Crookston was born at 4:00 PM on the 18th of January.
Tate's feeling a little camera shy here. He'd better get over it. Tate is making his footprints. This is the first chance that Aubrey got to hold her little sweet baby. He's such a handsome kid. He weighs 6 pounds 13 ounces.
I think he's feeling a bit suspicious of this whole being born thing. I kept taking pictures when his eyes were closed. Bad luck I guess. He's a very smart baby. I can say that because I'm his dad. And it's true. Aubrey loves her littlest baby.
He's giving me the once over. I guess he's trying to figure out if I'm okay or not. The nurse that caught this quick baby took a quick family picture. Minus the other two of course, but they'll be in pictures later. He started to make a sad face. I made one back at him. Tate's head is something inches around. 13 or so. 13 and a half?
Getting ready to see how long he is. He really liked the warming lamp. 20 3/4" long. Almost as long as Noah, and a bit longer than Tess. He loved getting his hair shampooed. It practically put him to sleep, though he did have a hard day. Our blond little boy. He has lots more hair than Noah did, though I'm sure he'll be bald soon enough.
Noah was absolutely thrilled to meet Baby Tate. Noah kept trying to make him smile by saying silly things and making funny noises. Noah is so excited to share his bedroom with his little brother. Our attempt at a family picture. Tess wants nothing to do with the whole thing.
How cute is he? Yes, it's a boy! But in other news, check out that cute baby butt! Looks like our little Tater Baby is going to have feet like Daddy and Noah.
